So, I started band camp on Tuesday Aug. 25. It lasts till tomorrow (Thursday 27), but on Friday I'll be playing at my first pep rally! Whoohoo! Freshman Pep Rally :]
But as this is like a marching band in a way, only marching band-ish instruments will be played. So I shan't be playing my bass clarinet :[ Awww. Instead I'm playing a plain ol' clarinet. It's not easy though. My fingers have to completely cover the holes or the instrument will squeak. And the little metal thing that my right thumb rests under to hold the clarinet is red and sore x___x
Today (my second day) I think I got better though! I'm still far from being, uh, good I guess? High notes are much easier to play than on the bass clarinet though so that makes me happy. And all the notes are the same so no memorizing new notes! Oh, and the case is muuuuuuuch lighter to carry! Oh my gosh.
Right, Friday. I get a free shirt that I have to wear for all pep rallies :] Lucky! Hopefully all the practice I'm doing will prepare me for Friday. If not, eh, well at least there's Homecoming!
