phoenix girl chapter 5
Phoenix tears
Maria cried herself to sleep and the day after she has recovered her power but her mind and body has taken a great toll of damage. She developed a high fever.
Caitlin visited that morning.
"So that was what happened. " Caitlin said after hearing it from kai.
"Im going to stay with her it's dangerous for her to go out especially in this condition. I have to keep watch of her. She will want to look for Michael.”
"Okay I’ll go to school now." Caitlin said then left.
Kai sat beside Maria as she was breathing hard with her high fever. Soon she woke up then remembered then tried to sit up. "Don’t even try. You have a high fever from yesterday." Kai said.
"But big brother. The enemy has him. The enemy has him" she said as she persistently sat up but was too weak to.
"Calm down” kai said to her , “ you can't go searching for him in your condition. Now sleep!"
"But" Maria insisted.
"Sleep!" kai hardly said.
Maria then had no choice but to lay down but her thoughts kept her awake. Many other thought came to mind for the last 50 years.
Maria woke up in the middle of the night. Kai then was asleep right beside her. She did not want to disobey him, but she could not let Michael go.
She was able to escape kai but as she dragged herself away she suddenly sensed something an enemy. She turned her back and saw a dark shadow and as that shadow revealed it self a man in a red cloth mask. He wore crimson clothes with a blue cape. He floated at the sky with his arms folded. She could sense it the strong power that lied within that young man. "This aura it can only belong to him... "Maria said to herself then shivered and said," blue dragon."
She felt the aura of another guardian but she had a bad feeling that he was on her side. He stared at her deeply as if having a bad intention to her. He then lifted his hand pointing to her and said, "Get her"
A monster then appeared and attacked her.
In a distance kai looked for her in many places. He then called upon the power of the rat and searched for her. He saw her being attacked by a monster. The attack was coming too close for him to reach her and she was too weak to run away then a voice whispered to him.
"Use me master the boar shall protect your loved one." it said.
"Boar skin!" kai shouted and a force field covered Maria and protected her from the attack.
“an animal warrior.” The blue dragon said, “you got yourself a companion phoenix. A companion to die because of you.”
Then maria felt a familiar presence coming close in an accelerating speed.
“yes phoenix this is him. go white tiger take down the warrior.” Said the blue dragon.
Then suddenly some one suddenly appears in front of kai. Kai saw in a quick second his eyes and saw that they were the eyes of some one being controlled, then he was stabbed in the stomach and hit a wall. Kai then coughed blood and then fell unconscious.
“kai!” shouted the phoenix. Then suddenly the person appears in front of her. She shivers in fear and the person she is aware is now in front of her.
“Michael?” she says.
“go!” says the blue dragon. Michael then attacks her but a barrier stopped his attack. The blue dragon then blasted the barrier. The white tiger got out of the way. The phoenix was still safe with the protection of the barrier.
“a barrier strong enough to not be weakened by our attacks could only be the turtle.” Said the blue dragon, “very well phoenix. Your day will soon come you will be mine.”
The blue dragon and Michael disappered. Maria worriedly ran to kai. Maria cried a river as she saw blood from kai spilling out. “kai please wake up” maria cried and let her tears reach his wounds. When the tear reached the wound his wound started to glow brightly and then disappear. Kai slowly woke up. Being back at the apartment Caitlin left worried about maria and kai. “I have to save Michael. He has nothing to do with this.”
“he is the white tiger as you saw. Just like Caitlin and you. He is forced involved.”
“but the enemy has him. I have to bring him back to his family.”
“we can save him another day for now you need to regain your power. You have seen what the blue dragon and the white tiger can do.”
“but Michael.”
“don’t try to bring your brother back from the dead.”
This shocked maria.
“we can save him but not now.”
Tears then flowed down maria’s eyes.
The next day kai woke up in a bright new day but he did not see maria. Instead he saw a note that maria wrote to him , “Don’t worry I did not go find Michael. Meet me at school.”
Kai wondered what she wanted and where had she gone. He went to class and to his surprise a new girl joined the class and her name was ‘Maria’ a teenaged 17 year old girl.
