note:i have been posting and working on other stuff so i wasn't able to upload it here if any does read here. well i have up until chapter 5 finished working on chapter 7 and have no idea how to continue on 6 i will post them soon. please support me.
Phoenix girl chapter 4
The memory of a big brother
At that night as one of the usual nights of kai, he went out to his usual place for a stake dinner but this time he was with a 7 year old girl. It was no longer his usual nights and it was no longer to return the manager of the steak house noticed.
"Are we really going to eat here?" asked the young phoenix as she stared upon the expensive menu.
"Yes we are take anything." kai said.
"Okay but when I grow up im going to pay you back. Now I’ll have a stake with mango juice." she replied.
The manager then came to his table to take their order. Kai then said,"yeah okay she can have what she said and for me"
"Is it your usual sir?" the manager asked.
"no." kai replied, “maybe the I’ll have ribs eyes for a change."
"Yeah for a change" the manager said with a smile.
As the manager left to prepare their order, Maria was looking at him with a nostalgic face. Kai saw it in her face that there is something different about her.
Their orders soon came and they ate. Everyone could see the difference of the two as they ate. The girl was eating very fast biting large chunks of meat, while the well mannered kai ate slowly and neatly. The girl had trouble cutting her portion with her little hands. Kai then stopped her grabbing her hand making sure she had not end up cutting her fingers and cuts the meat himself.
The manger came to entertain them then noticed something about Maria.
"I hope every things alright with you. Are you enjoying your meal?" the manager asked.
"Yes it's delicious." Maria cheerfully answered.
"Thank you.” the manager answered,” you know for a strange reason you have a strong resemblance to when my mother was young, especially when you smile.
The manager then left but since then Maria kept looking and her appetite gone down.
"What’s wrong with you?" kai asked.
"That man is a blood relative of mine." she answered seriously, “He is the grandson of my brother. It’s no coincidence that I look like his mother. Also it's not just that he looks a lot like my brother. That’s why he was name after his grandfather."
"Thick dna" kai then said as he took another neat bite off his food.
Soon just after they finished eating it started to rain.
At the back of the restaurant as the manager took out the garbage alone he heard a mysterious whisper
"White tiger" it said. The manager looked around and saw no one.
"West guardian" it whispered again and now he saw a shadowy figure in the sky as the rain poured harder. He could not see clearly the figure as he was covered by the rain.
Suddenly Maria saw a glimpse of the spirit of the white tiger spirit in the darkness. She threw her umbrella and went to the back alley. Kai followed her.
There she saw the manager wrapped in an evil rope of darkness as he struggled himself free. Maria quickly changed to her true phoenix form and tried to retrieve him back but the dark figure release a blue wave to Maria. It hit her and weakened her to fall to the ground.
Kai reach there and it was too late. He became frustrated to himself and did not know what to do. Kai then suddenly heard a voice. I shall help you master call upon me;" leap upon the mountains rabbit." kai then jumped high and caught Maria.
Maria recovered from the shock but was too late. The manager then flies to the shadowy figure.
"No big brother" Maria cried as she returned to her young self. Tears flowed down heavily down her eyes covered by the rain.
"Michael!" Maria shouts again. Then kai carries the crying Maria home as they escape the suspicions of the people to the disappearance of their manager.
