My Life Would be Nothing if not for You
Was my life meant to be a joke,
Sometimes I feel I have no hope,
We have not seen each other in a while.
Why is my life so full of pain,
Sometimes I feel I cant explain,
Even with the saddest of my rhymes.
But when I feel I’ve reached the end,
None other than a former friend,
Comes to shove my face into the dirt.
So when everyone has pushed me down,
Even my friends beat me around,
You’re the one I turn to when I’m hurt.
You help me keep on moving through,
When I am down I think of you,
And instantly I get back on my feet.
So even though you are not here,
I can easily say “I love you dear,
You give me hope even in the face of defeat."
