Before I start this entry I would like to say a few words: YES! YES! YES! That is all.
So this past Monday I had an awesome time, went over to her house, watched a movie or two, just a friendly visit, you know. Pizza, also. I had told myself I wouldn't push my luck or do anything stupid, just have a good time.
Well about when I was supposed to be getting on back to the house, her dad left, we were alone, some commercial or other playing. The only thought that ran through my head was "Wait a second...Is-" before she hits the Mute button and asks me if I like her. I had seen it coming...but not so far that I was ready with an answer and a cool tip of the hat. After several moments I opened my mouth to answer-
And the door swings open. Her dad looking for the flashlight or lighter. Inside my head? "STAY CALM STAY CALM." I throw out a weak answer off the top of my head about not running and hiding that sounded a lot more awesome in my head. Eventually and with enough awkward silence for an Octomom's worth of gay babies, I unscramble my brains enough to get the rough estimate of how awesome I think she is out my bumbling trap. My only comfort is that I was not alone in my tongue-tied-ness.
But yeah, we talked...or rather had long periods of shy staring-anywhere-but-at-each-other between which talking occurred. But yes. The deed is done. I'm glad she was man enough to ask, because I concede I wasn't. I'll just have to nurse that slight wound to the ego with the whole "I FEEL AWESOME and weird inside" thing.
In summary:
I had fun I tripped over myself I eventually got the deed done. Next milestone? Screw it, I'm done worrying about the future for now. For now I'm just going to revel in the joys of having an epic girlfriend.
