So. I was thinking. (this is the part where I hear the collective groan as people cry, "stop doing that!!!" wink
It is a sad day when your virtual fish hate you.
And they do! For example, this little flabby fish thing seems to really, really not like me. I change the temperature, play it music, feed it excessive amounts of loamflakes (whatever those are...). But no matter what I seem to do, it's just an angry little guy.
Every time I do something I think will please my fish, I'm often quite happy with the reaction. Little hearts pop up next to each of them, signifying a job well done. But lately, instead of a little heart, a sort of angry squiggle pops up next to him. Frankly, it's distressing. I'm really having problems coming to terms with its obvious hatred. I might even have to go check out that network therapy website - I post a link to it on all my romance posts, as a place for idiots who want to cyber can go to get help.
Is this normal? Should I just get over it, or should I redouble my efforts and try to get my little fishie man to love me? Oh, it's so confusing! Do they have some kind of group therapy forum on here to help me get over my aquarium troubles?
Then again, I'm sure my little fish dudes don't have it that easy either. I mean, they do "eke out a hardscrabble existence in a watery dustbowl of poverty and dispair."
Poor little guys...but it would be much easier to pity them if they could just be GRATEFUL!!!!
Hm. I will contemplate this topic further.

It's like the people who designed it that way wanted us to have to suffer through our fish suffering. It's cruel. It's barbaric. It's heartless.
Yes, I know I'm a terrible drama queen, but I've always had a problem with fish. I've never been able to keep them alive for more than a day or two. Ever. Any pets in my house besides dogs and cats are predestined, from the moment they cross the threshold, to have a terribly short lifespan.
You'd think I'd get used to it, but I never do. What if kids end up being like that, and when I get a house of my own, kids who enter it will be doomed to die within a month? Am I supposed to get used to that? No!
I hate fish....
