Hopes are high
Dreams are big
Standing tall with a magnificent grin
The skies seem light
The path seems steady
But suddenly your strong feet feel heavy
You can’t make a sound
You can’t move a muscle
Even your once sure eyes are screaming trouble
The path is torn
The light has hidden
You’ve come across a sign stating ‘forbidden’
You didn’t know
You swear to turn away
But reality just isn’t having a good day
So it eats you alive
It tears your mind apart
It doesn’t care if it breaks your heart
So you feel dead
Your positivity gone
How could something so good end so wrong?
Now you’re still here
Your heart still beats
But many demons your life shall defeat
They come in pairs
They leave in packs
You curse them all to never come back
When darkness falls, you know the drill
Fight them off until you get your fill
Once all gone
You can rest
But after this, you’ll never be at your best
That’s gone now
Then at a sudden realization, to your knees you fall…
