how you withstand the tests of time
i remember the friends
some still here, never-end,
and some that have slipped from my mind

in memory, possibly sublime
i look through conversations
and laugh at social equations
that i strived so hard to apply

potential selfishness, personified?
i remember the items
yet never who bought them
thousands which will never be mine
