In the dead of night, there is a small whistle. A girl slowly got up from her bed in her night gown, her pale hair falling around her face as she wrapped her blanket around her. She was about fourteen, and was soon going to leave the orphinarium. She slipped outside into the garden with bare feet. She seemed drawn to the outside and took a deep breath of the cool air. She looked across the dead night with her pale green eyes. "I know you're here, please answer me," She spoke softly when she breathed out. She clutched her blanket tightly around herself and walked to a tall tree in the back. It had begun dieing the day before, it's beutiful fall colored leaves had begun dissapering, and the bark begain to dry out. The girl leaned close to the tree and softly kissed it, soon it's bark wet again with life, stopping it from dieing.
A dark figure shifted in the branches at they regained life, wrapping around his limbs and was brought down to the girl with pale hair. It looked like a younge man around the age of seventeen, his hair long and tied back, a book clentched in one of his fists. His yellow gaze meeting the girl's ghostly green ones, shining in the moonlight like a cat. "What are you?" The young man asked the girl.
She just smiled like a princess, and said to him, "I am the princess of the orphanage." This annoyed the young man, but he was at her mercy in the tinter twined branches. She raised her hands and gengerly took the book from his hand, and brought it to her chest. She opened it to scan it, lightly fliping through the pages of the thin book, and looked back to him. "A vampire, now are you?" She asked. "You become what had killed your parents that you held so dear, why I ask you."
The young man had thought about that many times over in his life, and said in a reply, "So no one would fear for my death, like I did for theirs, if I had a child."
The girl seemed to step forward to him and placed a hand on his cheek, and he winced, for a moment thought that he had said the wrong thing, but instead of anything like a hit, she got onto her tipped toes and kissed his other cheek. The smell of roses filled his nostrils, and her pale hair whipped lightly on his face to tickle him. He smiled, the first time he was ever kissed on the cheek by anyone, his parents or not. It was an orphen girl who did this, and set the book back gently in his hand. She pulled away from him, and said softly, "You did this for your future, and I can under stand that. But you will not ever have a child, now will you?"
The young man looked down to the girl's feet, and then said, "Of course not. It's for the best not to have one." He leaned forward and jerked his head to the side, telling the girl to comforward. "Now I have another question, what is your name since you won't tell me what you are...."
The girl blinked her pale eyes and stepped forward up infrount of him. "I am Rose Kara." Her hair suddenly whipped through the wind towards the younge man, and the smell of roses came to him. She was named after the flower she smelled like, that was the reason why she smeeled like that.
The young man took a gulp. "And I am..." Right then someone swung open the door to the orphinarium.
A dark figure ran out and yelled, "Who's out there? ROSE!" The yell carried through blocks, and the girl swung back around to the young man.
"I'm sorry, but you must go now!" Her voice was ergent and she tapped the branches around his limbs, pulling back and letting the younge man go. He stood above six feet and walked infrount of the girl. "What are you waiting for?" She whispered quickly as the dark figure took out a flashlight, trying to turn it on.
The young man turned her to face him completly, suddenly having dark wings sprout from his back as he took a hold of her shoulders. He dipped his head down and tilted her head up, soon giving her a loving kiss with his wings wraped losely around them. The light was turned on and to them, the person paniced, it was the keeper of the orphinarum in her night gown. She screamed at the sight, the princess of the building that she owned, and then a vampire's wings wrapped around them. He quickly broke away and whispered in her ear, "I'll be back for you one day. And you'll be the one who will have a child with me." He stood back up from the girl, speading his larg wings and flapped them quickly, a gust flowing over the ground as he took off into the night.
The orphen girl's face was a bright red. He told her that it he wasn't going to have a child. What was it with meeting her that changed that so quickly she didn't know. Her legs quivered underneight her body, colapsing onto her knees and clutching her blanket tightly around her. She touched her lips lightly as the caretaker rushed towards her, checking her neck for bitemarks. There was nothing, and with a sigh, she picked up the girl and walked inside, setting the orphen down into her bed, where most of the others were awake and staring at her. It was dark but she could feel their gaze on her. She took a deep gulp and layed down with her face in her pellow. And you'll be the one who will have a child with me... The statement kept running through her head, making her blush deeper and deeper, until falling asleep, to were she couldsee his pale face in the light of her dreams, seeming to relax her until the next days arrivle.
