Chapter 4 dying angel
As they were walking back to the village they felt very hot. Every step towards the village it was getting hotter and hotter. As they looked further from afar they saw the village burning. Mito then immediately ran to the village. Liena followed him after.
She reached the village and then found the whole village in ashes. Countless corpses of the villagers were lined up on the ground slashed.
She shivered in fear and she could not stop her shivers.
They reached Mito’s house. It was burned. She watched Mito in agony as his home his mother was burned in the flame of fire. His mother was lucky enough to escape from the attackers but unfortunate to escape from the fire. Mito held his mother’s burnt body in grief. Her mother still fresh from the fire burned Mito’s flesh.
Liena then heard soldier’s coming.
‘It might be the one’s that started the fire’ she thought to herself. So she dragged the grieving Mito away.
They encountered a soldier who had no hesitation of attacking them. He was coming and she had to protect Mito who had no come back to his senses yet. She drew her boomerang and blocked the soldier’s sword with it. She drew the last of her courage and knocked down the soldier. She ran as fast as she can with Mito.
They escaped through the forest. Mito was only barely able to recover and pull himself together. Occasionally enemies came and Liena and Mito were able defend themselves. Liena and Mito then confronted a group of soldiers. In the fight they were separated. After knocking down her enemy she tried to look for Mito, but she found someone else. It was the man similar to the one that saved her.
He saw her and he seemed different. The crystal on his glove was glowing.
“You again.” He said annoyed.
“Who are you really and what is happening?” she asked him.
“were hunting down the rebel army and I’m going to kill their leader.” He said.
Liena was surprised yet puzzled why he would tell her this. He knew somehow that she was going to try to stop him so before she could say a word he punched her stomach and before she fell asleep he whispered to her ear, “my name is Kiba.”
Kiba and Azerina faced each other. Azerina was left alone without a guard and she was not a fighter.
“Miss Azerina I come for your blood covered in this crystal of mine.” Kiba said.
“do you really want to do so?”
“it is my orders.”
“how long are going to keep being the dog of the black land?”
“I am no one’s dog this is my life. I will follow what I want.”
“is that what you really wish to do?”
“forgive me”
A few minutes after Mito found Liena unconscious on the ground.
“are you alright?” Mito asked.
“yes but miss Azerina.” She immediately said and suddenly ran. Mito followed her. She found Kiba but it was too late as the crystal at his glove glowed wildly green it became crimson red as Azerina’s blood was flowed down on it. His sword was trusted in her stomach. He then pulled his blood stayed sword out of her body and left Azerina on the ground to die.
They immediately came to her as Kiba left.
“miss Liena is that you?”
“yes”
“please save this land.”
“but”
“Please take my bandana and give it to my right hand man toki. He will surely be mad but he will soon accept you. This is your choice though Liena be free and responsible.” She said and gave her last breath and died.
Liena could not believe her eyes as the man who saved her has killed one of the important people she has met. Still she believed that there was something else that he was not really the person in the castle and the one that saved her. She cried on Azerina’s body.
‘Kiba’ was the name she wanted to remember well and also one to forget.
