Element Fighter Ch. 6 Part 1
“Sora! Sora! Wake up!” Maxx screamed in my face.
“Huh?” I said wearily and blinked my eyes. I was no longer bound by chains and my left arm was stretched out while my right hand was on my stomach. I felt a pain in my hand. I looked over to my hand to find that same stone necklace in it. My eyes widened as everything flooded back into my mind. I jolted up, but soon regretted it because the pain came back, too. I lifted my right hand to see it imprinted with blood. Then my gaze fell to my chest where I was stabbed. In place of gushes of blood was a medical cloth to stop the blood. I was sitting up now and Maxx was in front of me. “W-What happened?” I asked. I just realized Maxx was covered with bruises and cuts. He stared at me, then turned away.
“Well, you blacked out. Zaku, thinking you were dead, left. Lee Ann rushed over to you and stopped the bleeding.” Maxx explained.
“This is no time to be thinking about me. That crystal is still out there.” I stood up and limped towards the bars of my cell which were now broken clean off. I didn’t see Lee Ann.
“That monster in the legends, it was Jason, wasn’t it?” I asked Maxx, still limping away.
“Yes. Lee Ann took off to find him.” Maxx answered.
And then we heard it, a scream. Not just any scream; it was a girl’s scream. To be more specific, it was Lee Ann’s. Her cry rang throughout the icy dungeon. Maxx and I sprinted as hard as we could toward her. The hall opened up into a room as the scream got closer. I halted immediately once I was in the room as observed all that was around. The room was as big as the gym was at my old school, and that was huge. Maxx stopped, too. Lee Ann was half way down the room, slouched against the wall, badly hurt. Maxx rushed to Lee Ann as I looked some more around the room. Directly across from me in the back of the room was Jason. Even standing in the shadows, I recognized him. Behind him was a beautiful water fountain, glistening even in the darkness. In the water was a faint glow- the crystal. Jason had a smirk on his face, and that wasn’t good. I suddenly caught a drift of what he was going to do.
“Maxx! Watch out!” I yelled, but it was too late.
