I eyes grew wide as I stared down at my chest. My gaze found a knife stabbed square in my chest. Blood was dripping from his hand, still gripped on it. I was feeling more whoozy than ever.
“Sora!” I looked up in time to see Maxx running toward the bars. Zaku pulled the knife out and slipped his arms away from me. I doubled over. Why was Maxx here and I couldn’t sense him? Huh? Why did Zaku call me princess and then stab me…..? I wondered. I didn’t black out, for the pain wouldn’t let me. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Zaku confront Maxx. They both started to rip and punch each other in a nasty fight. The icy floor around me was bloody now. I watched as Zaku landed a punch in Maxx’s stomach, knocking the breath of him. Then, Zaku unleashed a fury of punches and kicks onto Maxx. Suddenly, I coughed blood; it felt awful. Finally, I passed out from the pain.
I woke, but not really. I was clearly in a dream since I was looking at myself. The floor was still ice, but Maxx and Zaku were gone. I couldn’t hear anything, either. Suddenly, a voice ringed in my ears. Sora, it has been a while. It was that voice in my head. “Who are you?” I shouted. The next moment, a figure formed in front of my eyes. It was a girl. The girl had gold hair that fell to the ground. She was dressed in a formal glown with blue patterns on white fabric. This girl was about my age it looked like. Then, she opened her gold eyes.
“Hello, Sora. Do you remember me?” She whispered. I reached out and touched her face. I then pulled my hand back. I couldn’t feel her; it was like she was a ghost. The girl frowned. “You really don’t remember me.” I thought hard, but the truth was I couldn’t remember anything before my 10th birthday, which occurred at the village where I now lived.
“I’m sorry. I can only remember past my 10th birthday and nothing before it.” I apologized.
“I see. You can’t remember.” The girl whispered. “You can’t remember me or the old kingdom can you?” I sat there, staring at her and wondering what on earth she was talking about. Then, she started to fade. “Oh no, Sora. Here, take this and guard it with your life.” She handed me a red stone attached to a necklace, which was a tad weird since I couldn’t touch her.
“Wait can’t you tell me more?” I yelled.
“There’s no time- a.” She started but was cut off and her figure faded completely. Then, the dream itself faded from my mind, and I found myself being awakened in my real body. All of this was flashing through my mind. Who was that girl and why did she give me a stone necklace? It seemed like she knew me and she talked about an old kingdom. Why couldn’t I remember anything at all?
