Element Fighter Ch. 4 Part 3
“J-Jason?” I asked. He looked up at me, which was weird since he was taller than me. His eyes looked so full of sadness. He just sat there, cuddled in my arms. “Jason, are you all right?” I asked soothingly.
He rested his head on my head and whispered into my ear, “I will never be all right.” This shocked me. He seemed so nice at first glance- sort of. “Everyone has their own sad stories and I am no exception.”
“Want to tell me about it?” I asked calmly.
“I never want to think about those memories again.” He replied. “Let’s just say there was a terrible accident.” He stood up. “You want the crystal right? I can help a nice girl like you.” He wasn’t even looking at me. He walked over to the pool of water and glowed yet again, that bright gold color. A second later, he looked like the blue fish creature again. I felt a little sorry for him. He seemed so sad. Then, he plunged into the water. Another minute or so, he came back to the surface. “Oh yeah, you might want to come with me. The creature might come here while I’m away.” He said. I was surprised he could talk mostly like a human in that form. “Come here.” He commanded. I walked over to the pool of water. “Here it’s a bubble of air. Now you can swim as long as you want. You may not want to leave my sight because of the creature.” A bubble surrounded my head.
“You mean you’re not the creature in the legends?” I asked.
“No.” And with that, he dived into the water. I followed him into the icy water. As we swam deeper, it was harder for me to see through the water. “Are you okay?” He asked.
“Yeah.” I mumbled. The truth was I wasn’t okay. I couldn’t see very well and the fact that I was as cold as an ice cube didn’t help either. I shivered, but stopped soon because I saw a faint glow. “What crystal is at the bottom of the lake; element I mean.” I asked with growing curiosity.
“It’s the water crystal. It has certain powers along with the element water if used properly.” He answered.
“Magical powers like what?” I wondered aloud.
“Like the power to heal deathlike injures and the power to make someone fall in love, I think. I’m not sure about that one. There are other powers, too, but I don’t know them all.” He paused. “It can also undo a transformation with other crystals, but at a price.”
“I price like what?” But my voice trailing off, realizing it had to be horrible.
He started, “He will lose the most important thing to him.”
