Capt. Deep and companions barely had time to grasp the reality of what had just happened as they were tossed around in the water and used up most of their energy trying to take a small gasp of air to keep themselves going.
But after about fifteen minutes of being tossed around, the storm calmed to a slight drizzle, and their ship was back on its stomach, its sails in the air, moisture clinging to the red fabric and dripping onto the soggy floorboards.
The pirates were overjoyed, and they cried out in joy!
No one had died, and the ship was still in one piece, with small bits of it strewn about them. They collected the bits they could find, and saw that they could return the entire ship back to its nearly perfect state. With the exception of a few minor things, the ship was put back together almost exactly the same way.
Rooms were put back together, and then a head-count was made. Everyone was alive, but there were some severe injuries and the most severe problems had to be treated quickly first. Will was among some of those who had to be treated quickly. Capt. Deep consoled him and he was treated with a quick alcohol treatment and a bandage. It was not as severe as it had seemed. He slept soundly all through the night, and the crew sailed towards a small patch of land only a half-mile away.
