The Gull pulled into the British harbor, her red sails signifying her presence.
Will was coming out on deck with his clothes on, and smelling just as fresh as if he had just stepped out of a field of posies.
Capt. Deep stepped onto British soil, and immediately felt as though she had succeeded. Every pirate’s dream was to get a big chest full of treasure, but for many it stayed only a dream. But now Capt. Deep’s dream could finally become a reality.
“The naval station is west from here, Rina, but today is coming to a close. Are we to attack at night?” Will asked.
“Aye.” Capt. Deep replied. “In the dark, no one can see us coming.”
Will stood next to her. “But what if we’re caught? I’ve been to that station thousands of times it seems, and I know the entire layout of the place like my own hand.”
“Well, that puts us a leg ahead of everyone else.” Capt. Deep said.
“Let me finish.” Will said, calmly. “There are guards constantly patrolling. I know their routes, and let me tell you, they’re hard to get around without getting caught.”
Capt. Deep paused for a moment, considering all her options. Then she got a smug look over her. “Tell me Will; were you ever a guard for this place?”

Will and Capt. Deep approached the front counter of the naval station, with Capt. Deep disguised as a man, and Will wearing an old powdered wig. “We’d like a job as guards my good man.” Will said.
“Well we can’t just give jobs out willy nily, can we?” The man behind the desk said.
“But we need jobs sir, we have families to feed.” Capt. Deep said with an imitated man’s voice.
“All right, I suppose you could be interviewed.” The man replied. “Go down the hall to the left, and speak to George and Thomas and they will determine whether or not you can be recruited.”
They thanked him and headed down the hall and turned left, down a small passageway with pictures of the commodore and a small child lining the walls. “What are all these?” Capt. Deep asked.
“They’re my father and I.” Will replied. “Pictures of us were painted every birthday of mine. We’d have a party with the dukes and duchesses sons and daughters and the governors children and then come up here.”
Capt. Deep sighed. “So you’ve lived in the lap of luxury all your life?”
“Mostly. But I’ve had my share of hardships.” Will replied. “Now we’re at the door, pretend to be a man.”
Capt. Deep shook off her feminine look in her face, and tried to act manly. They opened the door and confronted the two guards there. “George and Thomas, I presume?”
Capt. Deep looked over them while Will distracted them with small-talk. Capt. Deep was to see if they could fit into the two men’s clothes. “Yes, we are George and Thomas.”
Will recognized the two men from the ship before the hurricane; the men who had found him in Capt. Deep’s room.
He was using the same cover up voice from before as well, and he would surely be recognized. “Well gentlemen we’re here to apply for a job.”
He turned and whispered in Capt. Deep’s ear “So will they work or not?”
“I don’t know… they seem a bit baggy in the thighs: won’t fit either of us well.”
“Well that’s too bad because I’ve met these men before and they’re bound to recognize me.”
“You seem awfully familiar.” The taller one said.
“Yes well, I have...” He was at a loss for words. “Many brothers…?”
“No, I know where we’ve seen you before.” The shorter one said. “You’re that pirate who tricked us!”
“You tricked them?” Capt. Deep asked. “I’m proud of you! You stood up to them in the face of danger; great pirating Will!”
Will ignored the compliment and picked up a glass vase from the table before him and slammed it against the shorter one’s head. He fell over, and the taller one took out his gun, and tried to load it quickly. Capt. Deep took a heavy book and threw it at the taller one.
It hit him in the side of the head and he, too fainted.
“Nice aim Captain! Now let’s get these clothes on.” Will said.
Capt. Deep’s face began to get a little red. “As… intriguing as that sounds, how about I wait here in this little closet and you get the clothes off the men, and bring me a pair of pants and a shirt?”
Will was a bit confused, and then he understood; she was a woman and the guards were not.
