The commodore glared at her. “If you want this night to go smoothly, I suggest you not give me a hard time.”
“I’m not trying to give you a hard time; you’re just taking things too seriously.” Capt. Deep said. “I think that’s you’re problem, Jack. You take things too seriously. You’re too uptight; you need to live you life. Not waste it following strict rules.”
“But pirates have a code of conduct as well.” Commodore Smith said.
“Aye, but we know how to enjoy life even with our rules. Unlike the navy, who gets do caught up in rules it takes over your life.” Capt. Deep said.
“You have the wrong idea Miss Deep; we naval men only abide by the law, and we try to enforce it. But just because we show some decency doesn’t mean we can’t let ourselves live.” The commodore said.
Capt. Deep straightened her bent-over back, and looked at the commodore. “Well, what else seems to be on your mind Jack? You have a look in your eye. You want to talk about something else.”
“Well, I’m not finished discussing my son; I want to know what’s happening to him. If he’s fishing or just learning how to sail properly I want to know what has happened to him.” The commodore said. “And I think you may know more than you’re letting on.”
