the rocks were beginin to split apart, and the clearing seemed closer and closer still. then the ship shook. they had hit something! no, they were snagged. but on what and how? then capt. deep remembered the rope she had used on the thunderbirds ship to lure them into her trap. she had put it up on her ship, and stumps were scattered along the bottom of the graveyard, making it more trecherous yet. she wondered why they hadn't felt it. maybe their ship was too strong to merely be bumped by the stump. the rope was strudy, and it caught. they couldnt move unless the currnet carried them. if it did however, it would carry them straight into rocks. they werent leaving the graveyard unless someone unsnagged them. that could mean being left behind however unless one was a strong swimmer. capt. deep was a strong swimmer. she could outswim any man or beast, and she would have to uncatch them. she dove into the icey water and swam to the back of the ship and cut the rope with her sword. now they couldnt be caught anymore. she grabbed onto the rope, and was pulled along steadily, her first mate easing them towards the clearing. it wouldnt be long now until they had escaped the clutches of the graveyard, and she was thankfull, but then she saw something that made her heart jump into her throat as if to escape the oncoming danger paddling her way - alligators, lots of them!
