they had sailed for about a month with little or no interuptions by the time they had returned to that same place where they had once been ambushed and taken back to great britain. "we're already over a month behind schedule." capt. deep mumbled to her self, tugging on her hat to shield the sun from her eyes. "we'd better make it in time."
"captain!" cried one of the crew members. "enemy ship!"
"is it more pirates or the navy?" capt. deep cried to the crewmate in the loft.
he studied the target for a moment and then replied. "pirate!"
"they have no chance of catching us, ignore them." capt. deep said, and this time she was right. the ship kept a good distance behind, with their sails out full, and the wind blowing to its fullest. the gull was undoubtably the fastest ship in all the seas. then capt. deep thought it might be Will's ship that was hunting them down. but she wasn't sure of that. but what if it was? what if...
capt. deep commanded the sails be pulled in to catch less wind, but she soon found this was a wrong choice. it was not Will's boat, but another party's ship. "we are the thunderbirds!" cried the captain of the other ship.
capt. deep spat her rum on the deck before her. the thunderbirds were some of the best swordsmen ever known to sail the seven seas.
"who be you?" cried the thunderbird captain.
"we be capt. deep and my crew of miscreates!" capt. deep cried out in reply.
the pirates smiled evily. "i thought yur ship was uncatchable!"
"we let you catch us." replied capt. deep's first mate.
"i see, and why may i ask?" the captain asked.
"you may not, now let's hoist anchor crew, we're through here." capt. deep said, turning sharply on her heel. she knew it was best not to reveal too much of herself to the thunderbirds. never trust a pirate.
