drops of sweat ran down capt. deeps brow, and she gazed unflinching into the fog, hoping to catch the slightest glimpse of the ship that had mysteriously appeared. she glared at the empty gray vastness. nothing aggravated her more than being caught off guard. she saw something - something in the fog. it was small, and not threatening. then she realized what it was "MAN OVERBOARD!!!" she cried, and began demanding that he be rescued. they threw life rafts to him, but nothing worked. the small boy was clingin to a piece of driftwood, and he was slipping. "what will we do?" cried crew mates. capt. deep had already answered the question when she dove into the ocean, leaving her coat and parrot behind to gape and wonder. she grabbed the boy and began to slowly ease him through the waves. Her first mate brought him up, and they lay him on his back, and they revived him. he was still out of it however, and he wasn't fully aware of anything going on. then capt deep saw it: the ship that had mysteriously come up moments ago. and it was glowing with fires from aboard. there were people with tourches. and they were looking for something. capt deep couldn't help looking to the boy they had just found...
