Mounted on an over-sized armadillo, he road happily down the road. His top hat was flimsily made, and the fabric swayed with every moment, but he liked that. He felt like he was wearing a hat of jello, which was something he had dreamed of since a kid, but it couldn't be made, it was not sturdy enough and the smell distracted him. His long, white hair ran down his back and lolled on his shoulders. The ends of his hair curled up ever so slightly, giving it a fuzzy appearance that often drew people to him, asking if they could pet him. He would allow it, why would he mind? He wore his hair proudly, and treasured it as a greedy man would treasure gold. His shirt was still fresh from the store, he had bought it no more than an hour ago and adorned himself in it immediately after the cashier had scanned the shirt. He couldn't help himself, he simply had to wear it as soon as possible. A plain white shirt made from common cloth. A fascinating thing, he had never seen a shirt like it in his entire life. He would surely be the envy of the city, and from the stares he was receiving, he knew he was right. Envious looks showered him from every passing man and woman. They dressed in such normal things, shirts made of leaves and bark. Shirts that were carved out from marble, and rocks. Shirts that could change their color, speak, and give off wonderful odors at their wearer's command. Too normal. His pants were another beautiful thing he had found while scavenging through the shop. The cashier said they were called jeans. He had never worn them before, but after putting them on, he wished to never take them off. Others wore pants of roots, steel, and an assortment of other things. So normal.
They rode by him on their dogs, cats, dragons, and ducks, their eyes locked on him in complete fascination. He earned compliments as well, he stood out greatly because of his shirt and pants, and while some were rude towards him, calling him weird and stupid, he ignored him, and basked himself in the compliments.
He was different. In such a normal world, he was able to stand out.
