what's in ur reflection? can u answer that? huh? well can ya? well i was thinking about how society puts imginary masks on all of us to make us self "aware" of what we should look like. Now i know people say things like "i have my own style" "i'm unique" well honey guess what? out of millions of people on this planet at least one or more persons has the same style as u! people imitate other people, especailly if they're in "clicks" or clubs, for instance the whole punk and hip-hop stlye thingy, mostly all the people in either a punk or hip-hop "stlye group" or whatever u perfer calling it, dress practically the same! so there u have it society is telling u that because ur in a certain group u have to dress a certain way. why can't i wear american eagle outfitters clothes and be ghetto or punk? is it because its all about how we have to look like the specific music or artist we choose to follow? and if so then once again society is telling us how to dress and look!
clothes, shoes, hair stlyes, accessories, and looks all affect people one way or another. i've heard people (i won't mention names) say that they don't care about their looks and they just don't pay a lot of attention to how they present themselves. well guess what they're lying their asses off! Our looks affect everything from who we date to what job we get. For those of u who think that descrimination is gone ha! u thought wrong, for example i dare u to go to a job interview with dirty clothes on, messy hair, ugly make-up and see if they hire u! i dare u! and once again society has choosen for us how a "working" or "professional" or "employee" should look like. Why can't i wear comfty clothes to an office job instead of wearing suits and high heels?? and at the mall in the store Spencer's Gift, they always have a rock, punk, gothic person working there, do they think that because the store sells gothic things it would be appropreiate for someone gothic to work there? why can't a non-gothic person work there? once again society tells them that if a store is a certain way the employee must look a certain way to attrack others to buy things. Well i leave it at that til tomorrow when i continue part two of this lil' report, i will interview my friends about this.
