Flames flickered on the torches through the night as they were carried by the villagers towards the palace. Moans and groans could be heard from the younger followers, complaints and sighs from the older. This small city was their home, yes, but they were not willing to let it be ruled by a king. Such a king who would ruin their lives by sending them and loved ones off to war. "I vote we boycott this proclaim and burn down the palace!" one follower would shout and soon many others agreed. They lit their torches, prepared their weapons, and headed towards the wretched sanctuary. Inside, at the topmost window, a young girl could be seen in a long white gown. She stared down at the moving mass of orange lights nervously, knowing their schemes. They were coming to take down this place and almost nothing could stand in their way. She turned away from the scene and looked around the room. There was no way she could do anything to help and she knew it. She tugged on her light golden-brown hair slightly, trying to think of a way to stop the rampage. As she thought, a man came through the door. He was in silver and blue armor, his dark hair easily seen through the small mask he wore. Shouts could be heard from behind him but he paid no mind to them as he approached the frightened girl. "Don't worry. They won't hurt you nor your father." he whispered as he knelt in front of her. Tears filled the girl's blue eyes as she wrapped her small arms around his neck. The man smiled and held her softly in his arms. "It's ok." he whispered as he picked her up. He cradled her momentarily until a loud bang came from below, causing the girl to jump nervously. The man looked towards the hallway where screams and violent shouts could be heard. The mob had infiltrated the palace. Thinking quickly, he raced towards the hallway, holding the girl's head against his shoulder so she wouldn't have to see what he may uncover below. He ran down the hallway, away from the noise and towards a trapdoor leading straight down. He stopped momentarily in front of it and looked at the girl. "You're going to have to trust me, ok?" he asked. The girl nodded firmly against his shoulder, causing him to smile and open the door. Holding the girl tightly, he jumped down into the darkness below.So, what do you think? I made that up entirely so I have no idea if I will add more later or not...Comment please!
