I was gone for 3 days, without a computer. I know, it's amazing that I didn't die from lack of computer. Anyway, I was at Eagle Bluff, a really fun field trip we 8th graders get to go on for 3 days to learn about the environment at this place called Eagle Bluff ELC.
On the first day, we went to the cafeteria to wait for the time to leave. SEAS Kids were sent to the school as well. For the two hour bus ride, I was going to read The Goose Girl, a very good book about a princess who knows how to speak to birds. Though, I got distracted by the movie Elf that was playing(we were on a rather nice coach bus). After we arrived, we went to orientation and checked into our dorms. I claimed top bunk, while my friend Bri claimed the bunk below me. After that, we went to lunch. Or, rather, we tried to. The line was very long and took awhile, which is when we then found out that we'd be going in shifts. For the first lunch, we sat with our respective groups. I was in group F, which had people I knew or barely knew, though after this trip, we've all become acquaintances. Our first class was Group Challenges, in which we learned how to work together. It was fun, really, since we actually had to think somewhat outside the box(or at least close to the edge of the box). I forgot what we had for dinner, but dinner was still quite welcome. We got the chance to sit with others outside our group, so I sat with the SEAS Kids, mainly because my friend John(who I have been trying to coerce into joining Gaia) was sitting there. Ah, yes, I had last dinner shift, I remember now. Anyway, although everyone in my area was behaving, the rest of the dining hall was chaos apparently, since we got warned about our privileges revoked. For our night class, we got to sit around a campfire and do stuff. Unfortunately, I did not get to tell my creepypasta, though RBA and two other people did a skit that was hilarious when told to be done as penguins. After that, we had a night hike where we crunched lifesaver mints and made them spark in the night. We then had a cookie and some milk back at the dorm downstairs commons. Poor John, he'd told me about dorm woes, like how creepy it was when Devin was sleeping in some other kid's bed, or how everyone said something when they farted("I don't want to know when someone has farted! D:" wink . After we were all dismissed to our dorms, me and my roommates all messed around for a bit before taking shower shifts and going to sleep.
We got woken up at 6:30 AM because that's when we all agreed to get woken up by one of the chaperones(breakfast at 7:30, gives us an hour to get ready). I took my shower, got dressed and went out into the commons. Turns out, we'd gotten one more chance at sitting where we wanted to, so I once again sat with my friend John. though, when we went to put his tray away, he forgot about the Leftover Eagle. So when it came up I was like "John, I think you forgot something". "Oh curses". Morning class was Orienteering, where we learned how to use a compass and map to find things(I was partnered up with my teacher, and we had fun even though we only found 8 out of the 10 things we needed to find). I am rushing through this entry because things get interesting starting at lunch. At lunch, we worked on corrupting John by saying things he didn't want to think about("p***s!" "Condom!" "Boobs"! ">.<" wink . After lunch, I met up with him before the afternoon class. I think I did something bad though, by releasing the evil power of Dark John. I was encouraging him to be corrupted. I told him to smile evilly. His evil smile = sexy(did I mention that I am head over heels in like with him?). I told him to think dark thoughts, about explosions and screaming. The conversation went something like this:
John: I feel some sort of dark emotion rising up within me
Me: Embrace it John, embrace it! : D
John: But the morals that have been instilled with are telling me to fight it!
Me: Throw everything your parents told you out the window!
John: ....even breathing?
Me: No, John, not breathing, though that's instinct anyway.
John: *Eyes widen as he lets dark thoughts fill his mind*
Me: Doesn't that feel good, John?
John: Yes... kind of....
Me: Now, go express your dark thoughts! Go draw something gory! >=D
John: Like bugs splattered against a window! ...though I have a feeling that's not the full extent of "gory"
Me: Go, John, go draw horrible things!
John: *Goes up to his dorm*
Me: *After he leaves* What hath I wrought upon this world? >=D
A little later, he comes back downstairs.
John: Something is wrong.....
Me: What is it?
John: I actually laughed at something that was happening at the dorm
Then, a little later we had to go to our afternoon classes. I went on the high ropes course. It was rather scary, though we were hooked up to a harness, and it was really safe. I almost quit when I was on the rope ladder. I managed to take the medium route, which involves going across the single wooden bridge, and then the Don't look Down bridge, and finally going down the zipline. I was scared shitless at the zipline. It took me like 10 minutes to finally take a standing start. Once my fear left me, it was so much fun. I kinda wanted to do it again. While waiting for dinner, me and some other girls started playing Ninja, which is where you bow, then take a ninja-y pose. Then, you try to hit the other person's hand when it's your turn. However, the person you don't hit but you're also next to tries to hit your hand, so you have to dodge it. While playing, this kid who's in my Stock Market Game group got his shirt pulled off. He hides it well, but he's fat and has moobs. Everyone went "My eyes!" "Auuugghh!!" "Ooooohhhhh!!!" and covered their eyes or ran behind the pillar. When dinner came, it was epic. John was even more corrupted, having around 3 hours to mull over his newfound darkness. When the chaperones made announcements, some of the SEAS Kids shouted "p***s!" and nobody noticed. When they told John about it, he laughed, then said "No! Must not laugh at that! >.<". We had to un-corrupt him. To make sure he was un-corrupted, I tested out various words.
Me: Explosions
John: .... Okay.
Me: p***s
John .....Okay.
Me: Explosions with screams and death and people on fire!
John: ....Sounds unpleasant.
Before that, he'd laughed or grinned at them. After dinner, my group made dreamcatchers. Mrs. Best just went ahead and made a perfect one. Mine was decent. After that, we watched a movie. I watched Ice Age 3, though most people watched Up. Ice Age 3 was cliche, and John told me that Up was okay. Cookies were eaten again after the movies, and after that, we were again sent to our dorms. Instead of showering, I just slept and held off the shower till the next morning.
The next morning, we were woken up at 6:30 by Ms. Bremer, who sang to people to wake them up("I have a feeling! That today's gonna be a good day, that today's gonna be a good day, that today's gonna be a good good day!" wink . I took a shower and after getting dressed, I packed up my things. When everything was ready and everyone had taken their things outside, we got to go to breakfast. We had to sit with our rooms, which was fine with me. I arm wrestled my roommates, and the other Amanda, who was supposed to be the strongest, lost to me. It was really easy too. We had our final class in the morning, called Oneota. We did things that they think the Oneota did in the way they think they did it. Nobody managed to make fire, but we ground up corn and made cornbread, while others played a game, while still others were carving out a canoe(Eagle Bluff has been working on it for awhile. It's barely dug out). We then got a conclusive meeting. We won the Eagle Eye Award because we still had 15 outta 20 points. Hopefully, on Friday, Mr. Erickson, as promised, will have his ponytail down all day. We lost points, but then got them back up to 15. We also got our school name on the Golden Plate(Mrs. Best got to write it). We had 0 pounds of food waste for all of the three days. It made me think back to the times that I'd helped to cheer on my friends to eat.
1st Case:
Me: Hey... you have to eat your applesauce
John: I need a spoon!
Me: *As John starts to get a spoon* Just lick it up!
John: *Gets back with s spoon and starts to eat*
Me, along with some others: Go, go, go, go, go, go, go!
John: *Finishes his applesauce*
Me: C'mon! Drink your miiilk!
2nd Case:
Me: Taylor, you have to eaat!
Taylor: But I hate sausages!
The other Amanda: Then why did you get it?
Me: Just plug your nose and eat!
Taylor: *Eats her sausage and her waffle stick*
Other Amanda: Here, I'll help you eat your cereal!
Taylor and Other Amanda: *Begin to eat the cereal, which is dry and not in any milk*
Lulzorz:
Mr. Erickson: *At the front of the hall* I just can't eat it all!
Everyone: Boooooooo!!!!! Eat it! Eat it! Eat it!
Mr. Erickson: I took too much!
Everyone: Boooooo!!!! *points*
Mr. Johnson: *Swoops in and saves the day by taking the pizza, holding it up, and eating it*
Everyone: Whoooooooo!!!! *Cheers, claps, and bangs tables*
When we boarded the buses, I once again sat next to Becky. Indiana Jones was played on the bus this time, so instead of reading New Moon, I watched Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. It was awesome, though the effects at the end were quite obviously CG'd(though I loved when the guy's face melted off). The bus ride was short, and before I knew it, we were back at school. I'd planned to go tell John to practice his evil laugh, but his mum came to pick him up, and he does not want his parents to know of his corruption. So, I went into the school, and came out the back of it to get to the buses. I made a nice cozy area in my seat and slept for the 45 minutes it took to get home. It feels like Friday even though it's Wednesday..... also, when I got home, it turns out nobody cleaned the kitchen so I had to clean the kitchen when I got home.
All in all, I really loved this trip. I kinda wish we coulda stayed longer, really. And I have also decided that I shall teach John how to be evil and dark and corrupted. Wish me luck with that! >=D

Speaking of which, did they end up asking you to write a letter to yourself in which they would send to you a year later? Because that's what they made us do when I was in 8th grade (I'm a freshman in highschool now).
