They say that a man’s character is his fate. Well, then my character must really ******** suck.
My name is Kijani. I’m twenty five years old, and if you were one of the few people outside of my (my meaning the one I was forced into) religion that knew me, you’d probably think that I have it all. I was raised in Comura as the only son of a wealthy family. I'm attractive, with ashy dark hair, a muscular, toned body, and what I think are very striking green eyes. When I was young, there was nothing I couldn't have. I would go into detail about my family and who they were, but none of that is really important. If you don’t like that, then you can just deal with it because I’d prefer not to talk about them, anyway. Selfish bastards that they are…
The important thing to know is that my family has worshiped the Divine for generations. It was pounded into my head that their's was the only important will on Gaea. What they wanted was done without asking any questions. I was taught, or they tried to teach me anyway, that what they wanted was what I wanted, even if I didn’t know it. Problem is, I turned out to be more of a free thinker than my family would have liked. Even at a young age, I challenged the Divine. I resisted them and spoke ill about them. At first, I was just punished much like any child would be after temper tantrums. After that, they tried to kick me out. Apparently, they thought that I would “learn my lesson” after seeing with my own, unprotected eyes what a horrible and sinful a place Gaea was.
Trouble is, I liked the sin. I like the dirt and grime and pain. I wasn’t sadistic or evil. I was just a realist, and selfish. These terrible things, all of them were what made the world what it was. Yeah, it was rough. But it was real. I liked real. It was so wonderfully different from the kushy, sheltered life of a wealthy son. So, after being kicked out of my home, I just never came back. Oops. Look like their plan back fired. They thought I would just come running back to them, begging for forgiveness. Whether my family wanted to admit it or not, I was needed. I was an asset to them. I was the son and thus was required if they wanted their family name to go on. Not only that, but I was one of the more powerful “followers” the Divine had ever had the gift of knowing. I wasn’t surprised when they sent people after me.
Trouble is, the Divine don’t like it when rogues like myself kill their other followers. The “hunter” they sent after me wasn’t really tough s**t. But I shouldn’t have killed him. Because of my actions, I’m ******** for the rest of my life. You think that, the lazy bastards they are, the Divine would just strike me with lightning or smite me or something like that. That I could have lived with…you know, if I happened to actually live. But no. They had to get their jollies at my expense while they were at it.
As punishment for my “sins”, the Divine change me into a creature when there’s use for it. They have total control over when the change occurs, and I have none. And if I ever want any sense of freedom back, I have to do what they say. Until then, I get to prance around in the form of a…
…damn. I don’t even want to say it. What? You want to know? Screw you.
…Fine.
I’m a ******** unicorn. Happy now? Good. I freaking hope so. They couldn’t have at least chosen something a little bit more masculine like a lion or a dragon. Hell, a dog would have been better than a damn pony.
…I really hate the Divine.
