I come from....

hm... where do I come from I wonder....

I don't remember where my birthplace was. Well how am I supposed to know. I was but a new born. I was never told either. My mother never told me. She too said she could not remember. Weird? No, not really. the Sonus Demons are a nomad tribe of demons, so we move around alot. I've never really put uch thought in to finding where I was born or anything, but now that I'm asked the question I have to wonder.

Where do I come from?

The screams of a mother in pain tore through the stillness of night. In a pile of hay a woman lay on writhing in pain, screaming, "STOP!! MAKE IT STOP!!" It wa a quiet empty barn, the scent of horse lingered in the air. There was a small crowd of people gathered watching her. None made a move to help. An old bag of wrinkled flesh, and bones sat to the left of her, humming a soft melody in a voice sweet and young that constrasted to her appearance. The old woman signaled for no one to move towards the other woman that lay screaming.

Hours passed by.
Hours of continuous screaming, humming, and pain. Finally the woman stopped, and the sound of a newborn's cries took the place of her screams of agony. She huffed, exhaustion echoed in each exhalation. the old woman held in her arms a nude naked baby, pale as the moon it self. She mumbled a few words and it closed its mouth silented. the two stared into eachother's eyes.

After a while the woman wrapped the baby in soft blankets of dark blue like the oceans deep, and handed it to its mothers expectant arms.

"He will grow into a fine young man," she said. the mother smiled and rocked the baby lovingly.

The crowd that had gathered, sprang to life from its state of of "suspended" animation. They asked congratulated the mother. They rejoiced.

"So what's its name?" as someone. The woman looked down at her child and thought.

"....Joust"
