Okay, so I'm really bored, and I have to take a break from rping. Here's the second story of the day(lolz), since I'm always getting random story ideas like these in my head. Like always, hope you enjoy!
Why We Mustn't Say "That" Word
We've all made the mistake sometime or another. Yes, we've all made the mistake of calling Edward Elric "that" word, and we've all learned the hard way what happens when you do call him "that" word.
So, what is the origin of why we must never say "that" word to Ed? Let's look back into Edward's childhood to find out.
-Flashback Time!- Edward: Age 11 Alphonse: Age 10 (Before Training)
It was a sunny Friday afternoon. Edward Elric and his younger brother Alphonse Elric had just gotten out of school and were now on their way with Winry Rockbell to her house. "I can't believe you guys weren't paying attention in class again. What are you guys up to?" Winry asked. "You shouldn't talk, you fall asleep in class all the time!" Edward said, walking along the top of the bridge railing. Alphonse laughed. "And it's a secret," Edward added. Alphonse nodded in agreement with his older brother. "Yeah, sorry Winry." The girl frowned. "Why won't you tell me?" she complained. "Again, it's a secret!" Edward said. In the short distance, a group of boys were walking towards the three.
Edward jumped off the railing. "Hey!" one of the boys called out. Edward stopped walking and Alphonse and Winry came to a halt behind him. "Why'd you stop, Ed?" Alphonse asked. "Trouble's coming," Edward said. The group of boys stopped when they were in front of Edward, Alphonse, and Winry. "What do you want?" Winry shouted. One of the boys stepped forward. "I never got even with you for the other day," he said to Edward. "What did I do?" Edward whined. "You know what you did! You tripped me!" the boy yelled, clenching his right hand into a fist and holding it up. Edward clenched his hands into fists and left them at his sides. "That wasn't my fault! I was walking and had my shoelace untied! You accidentally tripped on it!" he yelled back. "Don't try to add onto the fight," Alphonse warned his brother. "He's the one who started it!" Edward said. "I'm going to pound you, shrimp!" the boy shouted. Edward's head shot back around and he faced the boy. "What did you just call me?" he barked. "You heard me, I called you shrimp!" the boy barked back. "I'm not a shrimp!" Edward exclaimed. "Actually Ed....you are kind of short..." Winry said nervously. "Yeah, I'm even taller than you, big brother," Alphonse added. Edward had a look of shock on his face. "I-I'm short? Seriously?" he asked. He put his hand against the top of his head and then compared it to Alphonse. His younger brother was taller than him by two whole inches. "W-wha? I am shorter than my younger brother!!!" he said in shock and in embarassment. The bully smirked. "It's pounding time, shrimp," he said. "I'm going to...umm...oh look, it's a cat! Here, kitty!" Alphonse said nervously, running after a cat that was passing by. "Wait! Al!" Edward called out He glanced to Winry. "Um...wait up Al! I wanna see the cat too!" she called out, running after Al and the cat. "Thanks for you help, guys..." Edward mumbled sarcastically. The group of boys advanced closer to him, calling him all diffferent names for short. Edward gulped; he knew this wouldn't be pleasant. "Aaaaaaaahhh!"
-End of Flashback-
Well, now you see why we must never call Ed short, and what happened on that fateful day. Yes, I could imagine the painful memory of that beating right now. Ouch. So the next time you think about insulting Ed, or refering to his height in any way, do the world(and Ed) and favor and don't call him "that" word.
