"A Story" (Zack and Joey)
Really funny and slow at first but really cute towards the end! ^^

Sitting on a front step, I watched all the different people walk by; they all seemed to be in some kind of hurry...
"Can I sit here?" a voice requested beside me. I looked up and saw the school's second newest student holding a to-go cup in each hand.
"Sure, I don't mind," I said as I continued to watch the people; for such a small town, there were a lot.
"We were never properly introduced," he said as he passed me one of the cups. "Don't worry, it's just soda. My name's Zach; I'm in your homeroom."
I really didn't have much interest in talking to him so I tried to keep my answers simple, "Joey."
"Whoa, that's got to be short for something. Maybe a nickname? I mean, isn't 'Joey' supposed to be a boy's name?"
Annoyed I sighed, "Josephine is my real name."
"Wow, I think I prefer Joey," he chuckled.
"Okay, look," I turned my attention away from the people and faced him with nothing but pure annoyance, "you obviously, didn't come sit with me just to engage in small-talk. What's your story?"
The expression Zach had looked as though I had just asked him to recite the alphabet in Chinese. "What, you think someone put me up to this? Don't you think you're being a bit paranoid?"
"Not paranoid, just cautious. Everyone comes with their own story."
"Is that right?" He turned his attention to the people wandering around and pointed to a man wearing a black business suit who was anxiously checking his watch as he trudged across teh street away from us. "Let's say that man right there is the head of a big cooperation. What do you think his story is for having a big-time job based only on what you just saw?"
I shrugged at the question but didn't decline his challenge, "He probably had a horrible childhood to the point where he wanted to do everything he could to make sure that he became successful to get out and have a job that rushed him so much that it wouldn't even give him time to remember his dark days."
"Aren't we optimistic today," he replied sarcastically. "You honestly think that? What if he was just in it or the money?"
"That usually isn't enough motivation. Most people with 'big-time jobs' were either forced, hiding, or escaping from something."
"So what's your story then? You know for moving out in the middle of the woods," he asked as he rested his chin in his propped hand and smiled.
I went back to keeping my attention on the people passing by, which seemed to be diminishing some, "Didn't I already ask you a question?"
"Of course, how could I forget?"
"You just did."
He laughed at my attempt to insulting him, "I was just down the road getting a drink, saw you pass by looking a little down and thought some company would cheer you up." I shook the drink, that I had, at him. "That's just a peace offering just in case."
"I don't see why..." I said as I was taking a drink.
"I just thought it'd be more comfortable if it was like we were on a date."
As my reaction to this little statement, soda that was originally in my mouth or the cup was now splattered all over the sidewalk in front of us. Naturally, Zach started to explode with uncontrollable laughter towards my embarressing act.
Stiff, I stood and threw my bag over my shoulder and stomped down the sidewalk.
"Oh!" Zach sighed when he saw m e leave. "Hey, wait up!" It didn't take him long to get right at my side again; towering over me with his rediculous height (she's 5'7" wink . "Where are you going?"
"Home!" I snapped.
"Well can at least walk you home as an apology? Please? Either way, I'd still follow you to make sure you got there safe. C'mon, please?"
I stopped in my tracks and turned to start ripping him a new onebut his face was sincere and his eyes begging for forgivness... WHY DOES GUY SEEM TO KNOW HOW TO USE THAT FACE?!?! "Fine," I answered. However I didn't want to feel like he had completely won, "But only if you carry my bag."
Immediately after I dropped my bag, his long arms seemed to wrap themselves around my waist picking me up and he nuzzled his face under my jaw, "Thank you, thank you! I'm so sorry, I upset you!"
I could feel the heat rise to my face, "What the hell are you doing?! Put me down!!" As soon as my feet hit the ground, I took a few steps away from his joyous expression as he threw my bag over his shoulder, "Just because you're walking me home doesn't mean you're staying! I'm sure my mother will most likely kick you when she sees you," I said as we trudged forward.
Zach came up beside me almost like a lost puppy, with the same big grin on his face, "I wouldn't mind, as long as you forgive me."
"Just don't do it again or I won't forgive you ever again."
"No prob-" he stopped in the middle of the sidewalk coughing madly into his palm.
"Whoa, hey, you okay?" I looked around as he continued to cough to see if people were watching or maybe new what was going on, but the streets were vacant. "Do you need to get to the hospital or something?"
"Nah, it's okay." Although, he didn't sound okay. The coughing had stopped but his voice was hoarse. "I think someone had a perfume that was just too strong or something."
"But-"
"Shall we continue?"
