"You know, I hate this..." He said softly. All his life he was home schooled, and he has always hated it.
"What's that?" His mother, his teacher, slapped her ruler on her sons desk. "You hate this? This home schooling? I'm doing this to protect you from out there!"
"I need to be out there, mother!" He only called her mother when he was angry. He called her mother most of the time. He was a very angry boy. "I have no friends! You won't even let me speak to the new neighbors!" He yelled as he slammed his fists on his desk, making it shake. "I need to be out there! I need to learn about the world before I begin my life out there! I am almost a man, mother! Can't you see? I can't stand not having the freedom as the other children and teens have."
"When your father returns home-" She began, almost cracking and breaking the ruler in her hand apart. "He will not put up with this!"
"I don't care, mother. I don't care about alot of things... I need to have a world of my own! The world as it is, is my world that I need to discover myself!" He said with a very serious tone of voice. His eyes were narrowed, staring into his mothers eyes with such anger.
Tears were filling her eyes. "You...li-..." She let out a long sigh as she quickly left her sons room.
Now he saw his chance to leave. He grabbed his schoolbag that was a gift from his grandmother. His grandmother had been ill for many years, and still didn't understand that he was homeschooled. He grabbed his house keys which he never used, a few pairs of clothes and some money he had been saving since he was a small child. He did all of this in a hurry and ran out of the house.
"Yoshiyuki!" His mother called out the window to him. "Don't go! You won't last out there!" She cried, and cried.
He would not listen, nor would he look back at his mother. He kept walking and walking, until he stopped at a nearby playground.
He sat on a swing, backpack still on his back, slightly swinging back and forth. He let out a sigh, then he saw a figure go by. A boy, a skinny pale boy. His neighbor. With all of his strength he called out to him, "H-hey! You!" He did not know the boys name yet, and he wanted to know it, and possibly learn about the world from him. "Hey!" The boy kept on walking, Yoshiyuki trying his best to follow. Stalking is the term normal people would use, but he did not understand what it was yet. "Hello?!" He called to the boy.
A few minutes later, he had lost sight of the boy but only for a few minutes. He then saw him go into a rather strange run down appartment. He didn't see why he shouldn't follow him inside, so he went up to the front door.
He tried and tried to turn the knob, but it was locked. "Oh, great..." He looked around, to see if there was a doorbell, or any sort of thing that would let him in. He let out a sigh when he saw nothing. then he got the idea to break down the door. He had seen people breakdown doors in movies tons of times. What harm could come?
He took a few steps back, getting ready to ram into the door. Just as he went forward, speeding his walk, the door opened and he ran inside. He did not expect that to happen. He tripped from not being able to stop.
There was music being played that he had never heard before. It had a fast beat that repeated over and over but no singing. It was odd to him, and he started to like it.
He got up, looking around. There were people, everywhere. It would be hard to find his neighbor in all this mess. People were making odd movement with their body, some looking very sexual, others out of the ordinary, as if they were moving in water. They were all dancing to this music, he wanted to join in badly, but his curiosity to meet his neighbor was too strong.
He rushed past people, trying his best not to be touched. He was rubbed up against, pulled and he even got a scratch from a fingernail under his right eye. He gulped and yelped at people, asking in the nicest way to stay away from him. He thought he should have listened to his mother.
He got past, and went into the next room. There was a table with brownies on it. "Hm, whoever these are, maybe they won't mind if I have just one..." A few were missing from the plate, and there was almost none left, but he took one. He took a bite, not knowing what would happen. He sat on a table by a wall and kept taking bites. It was gone before he knew it, then he started to feel weird. He got off of the table. "Whoa!" He felt tall. He frantically looked around. Everything looked so tiny! And the colors he saw. Everything looked so different and felt different too. He kept touching everything in his path. Soon everything was going back to normal, but he felt a little down.
He saw his neighbor go pass the room he was in! He ran out, "Wait!" He called after him. Why would he not listen to him? He must have something important to do. He lost sight of him once he entered another room.
He looked around and saw two girls sitting on the edge of a bed. They looked exactly alike! They even dressed the same! Twins!
"Uhm, excuse me? Have you see-" He was cut off by the girls.
"Are you here-" Said the one on the left.
"For a good time?" Finished the one on the right.
"A good time?" Yoshiyuki seemed confused now. "What do you mean?"
"Like, you know!"
"A good time with us! Kimi-" The one on the left pointed to the other.
"And Koneko!" Kimi pointed at Koneko.
Together, they got up at the same time, and went over to each side of Yoshiyuki.
Yoshiyuki started to get nervous. His body was shaking and he could feel small beads of sweat on his forehead. He felt one of the girls pulling at his pants. "H-ey!" He yelped as he jumped away. "D-d-don't do th-that!"
"Aw, is this-" Koneko started.
"Your first time?" Kimi finished.
"My first what?" He was extremly confused now. "Time?"
"I remember my first time, it was with one guy you see-" Kimi grinned.
"Not two or three-"
"Not even a girl!"
"It hurt me, but it didn't hurt him! It's such a sad story..."
"A sad story you say? Could you tell me?" Yoshiyuki had never heard a sad story that was real, of course he wanted to hear. He never knew what was coming.
"I never knew-"
"She never did!"
"That it would hurt like it did!"
"It hurt, it did!" Koneko nodded.
"He entered me hard-"
"As hard as ever, such a large-"
"Can you believe it even fit in!"
"I can't-"
"Me neither!"
He stood there with a look on his face that still he did not understand. He was still unaware or the terms these odd people were using, not like he know what they were talking about. He began to walk away when the girls were facing each other and getting into a conversation of their own.
"He didn't even compare-"
"To my man!"
"Oh-no-no!"
Yoshiyuki quickly shut that door. He wondered into another room, the dining room. There was a large table, and smoke filled the air. He coughed once he had one breath of the smoke. He took of his glasses to wipe them off then quickly put them back on. He could hear people, then finally he could see them. They were drinking from glass bottles and had cigarettes that looked different from his fathers.
"Hello?" He looked at the people, there were two.
"Hello? Who are you? We didn't invite you!" One said lifting his bottle.
"No, we didn't! Did we?" The other laughed, taking a large drink.
"I just want to ask-"
"No asking! Just sit down and take a drink!" One of them with a green hat rushed over and pushed Yoshiyuki into a chair.
The other put a bottle infront of him. "My name is...What is my name? Oh... Rei! And that guy, that a**, is Akira!"
I'm not an a**!...Not all the time."
"What is that?"
"It's good, trust me! It doesn't hurt!" Akira grabbed another bottle. "Move from that seat! I need to sit there! My a** likes that chair. "Move, move, move!"
Rei grabbed Yoshiyukis arm, pulling him onto another chair. "You're mad, Akira!"
"No, I'm not! I think I'm going to..." Akira started to laugh. He couldn't stop.
"Ohhh! He does look like a girl!" Rei started to pull on Yoshiyukis hair. "Hey, who're you?!"
Yoshiyuki gasped. He looked towards the door. His neighbor! "Hey! Co-"
Rei put a cigarette into Yoshiyukis mouth. "Fun! It'll make you mad, like us!" He lit the cigarette as he took a drink from his bottle.
He coughed and let the cigarette fall onto the table. "No!" He finally noticed that the bottle said beer on the labels. "Oh God...Oh God..." He repeated over and over. As he tried to get up, his neighbor had left after he grabbed a bottle of beer. He was always in a hurry!
"Wait!" Yoshiyuki cried out as he got up. "Wait!" He ran out of the room, almost catching upto his neighbor. He followed him into a room.
Finally the neighbor noticed him. "You!"
"Hey! I wanted to a-"
"Shush! Hideo! Help me find my ring!" He had mistaken him for another person.
"But I-"
"Hideo, just shut up and help me!" He looked around for the ring he had lost.
"Okay, fine..." He helped look for it.
They looked for a long while. He heard his neighbor let out a noise. "Finally!" He ran out of the room before Yoshiyuki could say anything or try to catch up.
He sat down on an old chair and sighed a deep annoyed sigh. "Why won't he listen? Is everyone like that?... I certainly hope not."
"Not everyone." A smooth, deep voice echoed in the room. Then a boy creeped out from behind a door. "Everybody is the same in some ways, but different in others."
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing of course. This world is full of nothing but the same!"
"Who are you?"
"Torao." He said with a large grin. The grin looked as if it were going to take over his face.
Tiger, cat, feline. He looked like a cat now that Yoshiyuki thought about it. "I'm Y-"
"Names don't matter." He sang.
"But then why did you tell me yours?"
"I could, or maybe I couldn't. The past had no meaning, neither does the future."
"You speak such nonsense!" Yoshiyuki got up out of his chair, looking very angry.
"I speak nonsense? that has no meaning to me, kid!" He grinned again as he began to leave the room.
"Wait! Did you see which way that guy went?"
"Which guy? I've seen many guys. And I've seen you! Or maybe I haven't."
"The one that was in here!" He yelled.
"Oh-h-h, that guy. He went that way." He said without showing, he just left.
Yoshiyuki let out a small grumble. He didn't like this place, and he wanted to go home. Now that he thought about it, where was home? He didn't even pay attention to where he followed his neighbor.
He let out a sigh and sat down on the same chair again. He sighed again, this time his eyes were beginning to water. "I just want to go home..." He sniffed and wiped away a few tears.
