Chapter 2:
Today sucked. I mean it really sucked. It wasn't some over statement or anything; it was what most people like me would like to call an understatement. The morning was actually semi-pleasant for a non-morning person such as myself. Until it was time for me to take a shower; that's when things turned hectic. I had allowed Derek to take a shower first. What a big mistake. As soon as I stepped under the shower head, I was welcomed with ice cold water. Damn Derek took up all of the hot water! Again. It smelled good so I thought I would buy it for him. Now when I say it smelled good, I meant on him, not me.
So now I smell like Derek, and I'm sure he's gonna get a kick outta that just like any other normal guy would. That fact, to this very minute still bothers me. I got dressed, and that wasn't so bad. But then I went back into the bathroom to turn the water off, because I forgot to turn it off again. Just as I was about to turn the water off, Derek decided it would be a good idea and remind me that it was time to leave, and I fell backwards into a bathtub filled with cold water.
He looked at me and chuckled slightly, but stopped when I gave him my patened death glare, "What?"
He shook his head, "Nothing." He then grabbed the hair dryer and plugged it into the small outlet in the corner of the bathroom.
"The power's out remember?" I said while shivering.
He blinked and just stood there, looking at me, then back to the hair dryer, "Oh yea. But look at you, you're soaked to the bone."
I glared at him. No, really?! I shivered again, that water was freaking freezing! I am never ever letting Derek shower first again. So When we were headed to the building Derek was going to be working for, I was freezing cold the entire way. And it didn't help any since it was below freezing outside. So all the way to the Assassination Organization I was freezing. So you could say that I was in a really, really bad mood. And I was never in a bad mood like I was right now.
Derek was giving me those cute side glances and I was starting to get paranoid. I stopped and looked up at him, "What is it?"
He shook his head and continued to walk into the entrance of the building. I stopped dead in my tracks, looking up at the gigantic building. "Wow."
Derek was inside already and I silently cursed at myself, 'Dang it! Now, since I don't have any sense of direction, I'm going to get lost in this place!'
I silently began to start hypervenilating while wondering in the halls, looking around frantically, "I'm lost. I'm lost. I'm lost."
"You lost?"
I jumped upon hearing the unfamiliar voice grace my presence. I turned around and saw the second most sexiest guy in the universe. He was second because Derek was definately number one. But this guy made second in my book.
Any girl would think that this guy was the hottest guy, period. But I had my eyes on Derek so this guy was ok looking, compared to Derek. Anyways, this guy had...green hair and was obviously human since he didn't have enchanting vampire eyes. Anyways! He had green hair, perfectly tan skin, and brown eyes. So I knew that he wasn't a vampire. Though I had to look up to see his face, so he was probably a werewolf or something like that. I shrugged it off, and continued to observe this...thing.
He looked at me again with confusion in his eyes and I suddenly realized that I didn't answer his question. "Yea...I have no sense of direction at all. So, I kinda get lost all of the time."
I rubbed the back of my head; it was something I did when I got nervous. He chuckled, "That's alright. The layout of this place is kind of confusing." He smiled, "Who are you with?"
"Derek James."
"Yes?"
Again, I jumped upon the random inquiry. I glanced around the room for the source of the voice, and saw Derek walking down the hallway towards us. I smiled, "Hey."
He walked up to my side and wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close to him. I blinked; well this is odd. Derek was never fond of PDA. (Public Displays of Affection.). But I'm not complaining! Hell, what I wouldn't give for this to happen on a regualr basis!
"Now, why did you call me, love?"
Love? I smiled, regardless of the nickname I answered him, "-I'm sorry I didn't catch your name."
He smiled charming smile, "Aaden Shawley."
I nodded, "Aaden was asking me who I was here with, and I just simply answered him."
Derek nodded and leaned down until our faces were centimeters apart. I almost blushed, but luckily I was able to refrain myself from doing so. I looked over to where Aaden was still standing and was fully aware that Derek and I had an audience.
Crap.
I titled my head as much to the side as I could, in question. Whispering I said, "What the hell are you doing?"
He smiled and began to play with my bright orange and red hair, running it through his smooth fingers, "Please play along with me Sam. This guy is the leader."
"Are you serious?" I snorted. This guy looked like a whimp. There was no way that Aaden was the leader. Suddenly, Derek used his free hand to cup and caress my cheek. Oh. My. God. There was no freaking way that this was happening. In my dreams maybe, but I never thought that this would happen in reality.
He nodded, "Yea. This guy is the real deal. Do not mess around with him and be polite."
He pecked me on the lips, "Ok?"
His hand was still in my hair, and he was still staring into light green eyes. I sighed, "Fine fine. I'll play nice. Don't worry."
He looked at me, with no expression on his face. That was then that I knew he was thinking. I don't know what he was thinking about, but I know he was thinking that's for sure.
"We can talk about this whole thing when we get home."
I nodded, "You think?"
God, this had to be the weirdest day of my life. I broke away from him and looked over to Aaden, "Sorry about that Aaden. Derek is a little...affectionate." I snorted internally, 'Don't I wish.'
Aaden smiled, "That's alright. Young love is tender and sweet. It shan't be wasted."
Well Whoop-dee-doo Aaden was a smart one. I refrained from rolling my eyes because I was told to be polite. And maybe, if I was a good little girl, Derek will give me a present when we get home. I snorted, yea right.
Aaden looked at me like I was physcotic. I returned it with a glare. You better watch yourself buddy, He smiled none the less, "Why don't we all go to the main room and induct Derek into the Assassination Organization."We nodded and got to the main room.
After a while, Derek was inducted and we were allowed to leave. But before we left the building, Derek wanted to say something to Derek, "One more thing Derek."
"Yes?"
"Your missions will be sent to you over the phone and e-mail."
Derek nodded and we walked back home. As soon as we got back, I was pushed onto the couch, "What the hell is wrong with you?!"
He came across the room in two long strides and straddled me. Yea, you could say that I was shocked. I glared at him, seeing as I was more angry than anything else.
"We seriously need to talk about this. And I don't want you walking away from me."
"Fine. Talk."
