It was only the first day of school and already Akira was fuming .She could no longer hide from the drama and gossip that cluttered the hallways. Her back was no longer safe from the heavy bag she was forced to carry home every day to study.

"What's the point anyway?" She thought as she waited for the cars to pass "They give us all this work but there's no time to do it. Do they want perfection?" She sighed and turned up the volume of her music hoping it would drown out her thoughts. "I just want to go to a different world. One where you can actually afford to live....and die.....this world has gone to the dogs. No, on second thought, I don't want to be mean to the poor dogs."

Akira walked through the park, her eyes focused on the ground below her, her mind left to wander to whatever world she wished to. Before she knew it, Akira was on her front doorstep. She unlocked the door and headed straight down to her room. "Maybe a nap will get rid of this headache." So, she flopped down onto the bed. She covered her eyes with one arm and turned on her nature sounds with the other. In no time at all Akira was out like a light.

Suddenly she started awake and looked around her room. "What the hell was that!?" Akira screamed. She quickly put her shoes back on and ran outside. “Bombs?” She asked herself.

And indeed it was a bomb going off. Akira ran out to the street and saw a horrible sight. Planes were flying over head dropping bombs on the city. The city was already burning, people were screaming, and dogs were barking madly. There was mass confusion everywhere. She ran with the crowd, joining in on the chaos that had engulfed her life.

A bomb went off nearby and Akira was knocked forward from the force of the blast. She hit the ground hard and rolled. When she stopped the last thing she saw before her world went black was the red fire and black smoke that filled the once peaceful blue sky.
