It's been...lemme see...
Halloween (Oct 31) at7pm PST (day 2 at 3pm GST) Gambino's mansion blowed up xp
Since then, it's been like....8 days in Gaia-time and technically all the partiers are still trapped in the secret lab.
I like being a kitsune. Fazing in and out of the spirit world is fun and easy.
Ok...now that that's out of the way...
Tried to start another radio program that gives stuff away. No one paid me any mind.
Hung around with my new online family for a bit, but they all disappeared for the moment.
Had all day off today and I have no idea where it went...
I get paid tomorrow. And I made a list of christmas presents to buy for people. I'm looking at around $300 needed for presents. gonk
Christmas: The holiday you love to hate.
Which brings me to the discussion I'm going to start after I finish writing:
Christmas has become too powerful. At first, it was content to consume December with his holiday festivities. And then, things changed.
Christmas became more than just Jesus' birthday and the day after Santa brought gifts to all.
Christmas became too strong for them. It fed on the desires and greed of the children through newer, better toys. Tempting them to ask for more and more.
And then Christmas began to enter Thanksgiving's territory. At first, Thanksgiving (also called Turkey Day) didn't mind. Christmas WAS pretty important after all. It brought families together and spread happiness.
But Christmas wasn't satisfied with merely "sharing" the tail-end of November with T.D. It wanted more and in a swift, silent take over...
Chistmas at Thanksgiving.
He left Thanksgiving's remains over a five day period, allowing families the five days to eat and enjoy each others' company while taunting them with the promises of the following month.
families "Oh, it's Thanksgiving. Christmas is a month away biggrin "
And so Christmas was content for a few years. Or was it.
No. Even before it overthrew Thanksgiving (Santa is even in the THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE! CONSPIRACY!!!!! scream ) it had already gotten a foothold in July. "Christmas in July". A subtle reminder that July is/was the half-way mark to Christmas.
Even now, Christmas is spreading it's evil domain. Slowly, it has consumed almost the entire month of October. In a few more years, it plans to over-shadow Halloween as well.
Jack What's this? What's this? There's Christmas everywhere gonk ! There is no more joy in Halloween town!
But how? How could he have gained this much power? Without our knowing?
The answer lies in Christmas' cohort. One of human design. We call it "marketing" among other things. Marketers place advertisements out through TV and magazines and catalogues, brainwashing us so that we don't notice what Christmas is doing.
Even on Gaia, as soon as Jack was gone for the year, almost all thoughts turned to Christmas. Only a scant few spoke up.
scant few But what about Thanksgiving/Turkey Day?
Don't let Thanksgiving die completly. Remember Thanksgiving. Don't give into Christmas' charms or he will eat your soul. Don't let him reach July, because then there is nothing to stop him for controling our lives except a few presidents, a rabbit armed with brightly colored eggs, and a little, winged boy armed with arrows of love.
Jack is really our last line of defense if you think about it...
Speard the word.
