Years and years ago, towards the beginning of time itself, Takaya was born. Her family was of mermaids and other merpeople. But, when she was born, her silky skin slowly started to change. This wasn't normal for the merpeople of their kin. The merpeople that had the hard platinum skin that Takaya had was the merpeople of the south. Their (southern merpeople) skin was suited to fit the needs of the extreme amount of heat that the water consumed daily. The merpeople wondered why Takaya was like this. Whilst all of the debating, Takaya was slowly growing. After only a fortnight after her birth, Takaya was fully grown. The merpeople thought that that was odd too. So after many hours, Takaya was fully aware of the situation. And so, the merpeople placed her in a first grading level. She quickly advanced to eleventh grading level. The elders of her underwater village thought that that was abnormally strange. Then one of the oldest of the elders realized what was happing. ''Takaya, bring in Takaya.'' And so they did and they brought her parents with her. ''My dear, Takaya. We have studied this situation since you were born, and that was only three full moons ago. I have thought and thought over the matter, and I have a conclusion, but I must first ask Brough and May (Takaya's parents) a final question.'' He directed his vision towards Brough and May. ''Do you know the precise date Takaya was concieved?'' May spoke up. ''Well, if I am correct, she was concieved one and three full moons ago. And if I may add, it was a full moon that night too.'' The elder thought for a moment, then said ''Was there anyone else there that night one and three full moons ago?'' Brough spoke up this time. ''No, but there was an odd plant that I have never seen before. It looked like hooked things that looked like they would to try to claw out my eyes.'' The elder didn't look surprised. ''I was afraid of that. Well, that plant was the Yechlid plant. It fertilizes any female that comes near it. It also increases the advancement in knowledge, growth, health, and anything else. It is also a plant that is supposed to be only located in the southern waters. I'm afraid it must have been dispersed here somehow... Brough, May, your daughter is a rare breed known as the TaChost.''
