RELIEVED
My essay in English was fairly easy.

As was the Free Response portion of my Stats final. Some of the questions were worded oddly though. So a bunch of us kept going up to Mr. Cunningham to ask him what the question was even asking.

My American Studies 2 class had a race. We had a worksheet and a map of the world on the board with different colored arrows pointing to certain countries. On our worksheet we had a clue (for example, "This country was our enemy in the Cold War" or "We fought alongside with U.N. forces in this country" wink and the first 5 people in the class to get them all right first would get a reward. I was third. 3nodding

And I just started doing some more research on visas. According to the Study in Australia website, you cannot get a job there with a study visa until you're actually there and have started your studying. So getting a job there before I study won't work. xp Oh well. I guess that means either I'll go to Australia a few months later than I intended or maybe I'll bum off of James' family in exchange for helping them with things. I dunno. And then when I start my college courses I'll move to somewhere much closer (considering it'll probably be in Melbourne or Bendigo or maybe Bundoora and both of them are at least 4 hours away from James' house) to where I'm studying and then I'll get a job in that area. I can't work for more than 20 hours a week though and I must have at least 25 hours of study every week.

Those Aussies are very strict about letting you into their country and especially becoming a citizen. They have this whole point-based system thing and if you don't have a certain number of points they won't let you become a citizen. O.o (Hell, you need a visa to even VISIT.) Oh well. I plan on remaining an American citizen for a while. Just in case don't things go according to plan. It's always good to have a back up plan.

It also seems like getting an international scholarship there is intense. Their universities are also ranked higher worldwide than those in the U.S. So their universities are also intense.

But, but, but, buuuuuut tuition and living costs are lower there. Living costs probably aren't THAAAAT much lower, but the cost for the journalism program I want to do at La Trobe University is only $16,640 (AUD). And the U.S. dollar is stronger. (For now at least. The Australian dollar is definitely catching up.) Some of the schools I would love to go to (but probably couldn't) have the tuition up to $70,000. @_@

I'm kind of concerned about getting scholarships on a financial basis. (I found out my dad makes WAY more than I thought. O_O And my mom made a hell of a lot when she was a biochemist. We're definitely in the middle class rather than the lower class. I don't know how much my mom makes now but my dad makes around $70,000 a year. Which is pretty damn good, but we don't see so much of it because of taxes and Social Security. And then a lot of it goes towards bills and food and all the necessities.)

So I'll just have to find lots of scholarships based on your academic performance. Because my unweighted GPA is almost 4.0 and weighted GPA is nearly 4.4.

But I found a site on US Financial aid for La Trobe. And they have a place you can contact. So around this summer I'll probably start contacting them to get everything ironed out.

Phew.

Man, I'm ready for a nap.

And I'm stuck on "One" by Metallica on GH3. I do really, really, really well until about 3/4 of the way into the song. crying I'm playing for the devil now. Apparently my contract says he has my soul. O.o
