Tyren stared at Risha, cosern in his eyes.
"Don't worry, you have nothing to fear."
Risha broke down into tears. "How could you love me if you know my secrete!!!??!!"
"Risha, it's nothing bad. It's nothing bad."
Tyren felt that it would be better just to put the conversation of until tommorow.
"Risha, how about we just talk about it tommorow, huh?"
Risha sighed and smiled, "Yes, can we put it of..."
Tyren put his huge hand on the girls knee, and stood up to leave.
"Do you want to go home?"
"Ok, let me just go get my stuff"
Everyone went to hug the girl, with such kindness, that were it not for Risha having to go get her stuff, they might have stayed there all night.
Risha went walking to her room, to get her stuff. She went to the closet to get her bag. She went to the bed to get her pillow, she went over to the nightstand and found nothing. Frantically, she search the room,
tearing everything up. Where was those gogles? She had to find them, she never went anywhere without them. She let out a shriek. She ran out of the room to the table where Tyren was sitting.
"Tyren, I lost it!!!!!"
"Hold on a second, now what did you loose?"
Risha was already crying, "My-my G-g-go-go-gogles!!!"
Risha couldn't help it, but she had to wail.
"Don't worry Risha, we can by you new ones."
Risha stared at the man, before continuing to wail.
"Tyren, you don't understand, I had those forever."
"And why is it so important?"
Risha was wasting time, "Just help me find it, and I'll tell you tomorrow. Just hurry!!!"
Tyren walked off, along with the other people with him. Risha was worried, she really wanted it back. She went to search with them. They walked all around the Inn, room to room. They went to the roof, and found the thief just in time.
He started to run, and so did the rest, but it was to late, he escaped into the darkness of night. Risha couldn't stand it. She spread her legs, and charged her energy. Once again, for the fisrt time in over a year, she felt her energy
run wild. She focused her energy into the floor, she could feel the ground shifting, as she kept focusing her energy. Then, finaly, she knew she had accoplished what she was hoping. She manuvered a chunk of rock straight into the thief,
knocking him out. Then, just as she expected, she lost control. Her energy was going all over the place. Lifting rocks, moving the wind. Then, something struck her, and her world went black.
Light struck her eyes like a two edge blade. Then it was dark again. Risha finaly noticed that she had closed her eyes. She opened them again, slowly. Light invaded her world once more. She noticed she was in the Inn, but why?
Her head throbed with pain. Slowly, and cautiously, she got up, and looked around for her gogles. They were on the old, nightstand. She walked over and got them. She put them in their old place around her neck. She made her way to the diner.
Just as she thought, Tyren was there. She hobbled over and sat in front of him, next to Melina. Tyren wasn't smiling, no one was. She knew it, they saw her using her cursed powers. Now they probably thought she was a freak, they might even hate her.
Risha started crying. No one spoke for a long time, finaly Tyren broke the silence.
"Risha, are you feeling all right."
She said nothing.
"We, ahh, had to hit you, you were losing control back there."
Risha wanted to die.
"Also, Risha, I thought you might need help, training."
Risha looked up and saw that he was smiling. "Will you please?"
"Anything for you."
Risha suddenly felt relieved. "Can you also teach me how to be a warrior."
Tyrens smile faded. After a long, agonizing minute, he sighed smiled and said, "Sure."
Risha stood to leave when Tyren spoke, "You still haven't told me about your gogles."
Risha sat and smiled.
"Fine, I'll tell you. When I was born, I have no idea why my parents left me in the streets, but they did. I grew up in the streets, not knowing who my parents were. A local gang took me up. There I was raised, learning how to steal, fight, and kill.
Even though everyone said we were all family, no one treated me like family. No one, except one person, James. He always respected me, and was nice to me."
"So he was your friend?"
"Technically, no. We never refered to each other as friends. Well, he always looked out for me, when we stole he was there to tell me when we had to leave. When we fought other gangs, he had my back. He even gave me my education. He stole some books from
the libary, and gave them to me, saying that I should read. So I did, and quickly found out that I loved stories. James and I read each day toghether. Then one day, I was alone, walking toward the libary to read there, when I found out I had powers.
Naturaly, I was excited to have powers. So I quickly ran home. Once there I showed every one my powers. It didn't turn out how I expected. They grabed me and took me out to the "Pit". The "Pit" is a place were they put traitors, and people who were captured
from another gang. There they stoned and whiped me. They left me almost dead, and told me if I wanted to live, I had to stop using my freak powers. They outcasted me leaving me to get my own food. James was nice enough to bring me food, and care for me. One day
he came, smocking a cigaret, as always. He told me never to smoke, anyways, he sat next to me. He looked at me and smiled. Then he said 'That power you have is a gift. You shouldn't be ashamed of it. Learn from it, and learn how to use it. Use it for good, trust
me Scarf'. Back then I always wore a scarf, the only thing my parents left me, and James always refered to me as 'scarf' for that reason. Well, he went on saying, 'Trust me it will help you.' I trusted him. Two weeks later, something strange happened. While everyone
was out, a monster arose from the depths of earth. After it killed one person, I pushed away fear and used my powers. I focused my energy to control some electricity. I killed the monster, but lost control of my powers. I hit three people with stones, and finaly
gained control again. I went to find out who got hit, I saw I hit one person from another gang. I went to another person, and saw it was one of our own. I went to the last one, and fell on my knees. I had hit James. He looked up at me and smile. He raised the cigaret
in his hand and said 'Never should've started.' He looked at me and grabed his gogles. He held them out and said 'Take them, I won't need them. Keep on reading, Scarf' He smiled and went on. 'Keep on using your powers. Do good. Never be ashamed of them. Your a unique
and special person. Scarf, never give up.' Right there he died. The rest of the gang was walking toward me. I knew what was going to happen. I laid my scarf around James, and stood waiting. They came to me, ready to kill me. I asked I could be given until the next
morning. They agreed. That night I burried my friend, and left."
"Then what?"
"Then I traveled around before coming here."
"Well, I'll teach you how to use your powers, but first lets go home."
They left and went home.
Rish was tired after the long trip home, and the training. So Tyren let her go buy ice cream. He sat waiting for Drokiem. Finaly, after two hours of waiting, he came. Tyren quickly poured out some tea, niether of them being drinkers. Around an old mohagony table
they sat.
"Drokiem, tell me what news you have."
Drokiem figeted in his seat, and finaly said, "Rebels from the south have been killed, many are making their way over here,"
"Ah, I see. And what of the weapons they were expecting, or the troops?"
"I have heard no news of such matters, besides that they, refering to both, will be very strong."
Tyren let out a sigh. It was obviouse that this was going to be a long, hard war. He just hoped he could finish training Risha. Tyren stared out the old window, when the door opened. He turned around to see that a messenger stood at the door.
"My king, we have new news for you, and your friend."
Tyren was getting tired of the small talk. "Well, speak up, boy!"
"One of your men spotted the army."
"And?"
"Its huge!! At least nineteen thousand people large, and doesn't include the peasents in the training camp, or the troops coming from Undera."
"Drokiem, get the army armed and ready, we're moving out in two days."
Drokiem left, so Tyren went to say bye to everyone. He went to the childrens room. Said his goodbyes. Slowly he made his way toward the garden. He walked up to his wife and held her. After many tears, he let go and walked toward Risha's room. Silently, he walked up to her.
She was sleeping soundly. He kissed her forehead and left.
Risha laid still, in the dark, alone, a tear forming in her eye as the door closed shut.
Two days later, Tyren stood in his tent. The Southern army was even bigger than expected, and the troops from Undera still haven't arrived. Tyren walked over to Suzar's camp. Its been a long time since he met with his trusted Sargeant. There they discussed the plan.
Tyren picked his sword, and signaled for troops to get ready. They lined up. The trumpet sounded, and quickly was drowned out by the sound of marching and war cries.
