"Dear Journal.. gods, that still sounds so corny.. Anyway.. A lot has happened since I last wrote. That nasty business about Derrin and Rori has been all cleared up. Turns out he really wasn't cheating on me after all. Thank gods. Sekhmet has learned proper pronounciation and vocabulary, though Derrin doesn't seem to notice. Maybe he's just trying to keep her from having an inflated ego. Apophis has become more recluse lately, and rarely comes out of his room... Oh! The children now have larger rooms on opposite sides of the ananta. Derrin meditated long and hard to enlarge our small domicile. He's sweet like that. Anyway, he says Apophis is behaving normally for a nagah child his age. I still worry.
We have secured a new house guest. Her name is Candy. A strange manner of being, she is-- all stitches and reanimated tissue. The children like her, though. She is currently teaching Sekhmet how to sew, of all things. And she's also quite the excellent cook.
Derrin found her at the Niralithean, apparently wounded.. can those things get hurt? Anyway.. she's all patched up now, and living comfortably with our family. She's so sweet, it's hard to believe she was treated so badly by her "master" and creator. I adore her.. and Derrin.. well.. he likes her a bit too much, methinks. Boys will be boys, I guess, and Candy seems to fend him off firmly but playfully. I really like her for that.
It seems I am running short of ideas to discuss within this odd little book.. hard to believe some of the scribbles and drawings that have taken up pages. Comes from being an insomniac, I suppose. Ah, well.. time to go to bed. Maybe I can have a deep sleep this time.."
