I would have to say that that little phrase is all that much more poinient now then it was before. I sit infront of this glowing box of doom with nothing but good intentions. I wait for something to change and when it does it's not for the better.
That is a common utterance from many of my aquaintances. I take a figuative step back and look at what they've just put before me. I acknowledge that they've been delt a poor hand but I tell them to look to the left and to notice that their hand isn't that great either. Then I redirect them to the dealer sitting between us all and it dawns on them that the dealer's not using a full deck. Their eyes sink as dispair casts her shadow over their soul and I redirect them, once again, and down the hall comes a boy carrying a silver platter with a full deck of cards and the spirit of my friend lights up with the light I'm accustomed to seeing.
And that's my life. When things get you down, remember everyone has a bad day from time to time but there's always a new deck around the courner.
