Karly 'кαчкαч' Brennan
The Step Sister
The Step Sister
Well you drive me crazy half the time,
The other half I'm only trying
To let you know that what I'm feeling is true
And I'm only me when I'm with you.

Black curtains pulled across the window made the room extra dark, the blue walls covered in all kinds of posters from bands and movies and all the things that interested Karly. In one corner of the dark room was a large mattress on the floor, the quilt strewn over and completely covered the small frame that was laid underneath; the only sound in the room at that point was the quiet breathing of a half sleeping girl. A loud beeping suddenly broke the peace of the morning and a quiet groan came from beneath the quilt, a hand snaking out to find the phone on the floor that was making such a noise. The girl pressed down on the red button in order to silence the damn device, as she had a feeling it would give her a headache if she were to carry on listening to the shrill noise. Silence ensued the room once more and Karly sighed to herself, revelling in the no noise for a few moments. But it weren't to last; she had to get up for the day. At least it's Friday. She thought to herself, with a slight smile on her lips.
Lazily, Karly emerged from the mattress in the corner of the room; once she was on her feet the girl raised her arms above her head and stretched out all her muscles, yawning loudly as she revelled in the feeling of the stretch. Her bare feet made barely any sound as she padded across the room to the long mirror that rested against the wall, glancing in it to see how much of a mess she looked. She was quite a restless sleeper and so often woke up with her hair all over the place, her clothes rather dishevelled and all kinds of things. The night before she had gone to bed in shorts and a small grey tank top, so there wasn't anything to worry about in that case, but her hair looked a bit of a bird's nest as she had let it loose when she went to sleep. Her hairbrush laid on her desk beside her laptop, and she ran quickly through her hair to sort out the knots. She considered going in to jump on Luc in order to wake him up, but wondered if their parents might get suspicious...
It's only a sister being a pain in order to wake her brother. Karly decided silently, leaving her phone on the floor by her 'bed' and slipping out of the room. The girl crept along the hallway to Luc's bedroom, which was two doors down with just the bathroom separating them from one another. Instead of knocking on his bedroom door, she decided to just creep in, making sure to be extra quiet with the door behind her; it barely made the usual clicking sound as she closed it. Stifling a giggle, Karly crept across the room and stopped at the bed where her future step-brother was sleeping. She tilted her head to the side a little with a small smile on her lips, enjoying how peaceful he looked when he slept. She took a deep, quiet breath and jumped, landing on the boy's frame and leaning down to his ear. "Wakey wakey, sleepy head!"
Just a small town boy and girl,
Living in the crazy world
Trying to figure out what is and isn't true.
