Where did the notion that nobody is more emotionally mature than a toddler get started? Why does everybody need an award when one person gets one? Seriously. People should be able to accept that not everyone is going to excell at everything! When one is part of a team sport, they should be taught that they can make a vital contribution to the team without being the best athlete! It's okay to not win everything!
Giving every child on a team a trophy does more harm than good. And now the idea is creeping up from children to adults. GET A GRIP! Anyone old enough to have a child should be mature enough to accept that some people contributed more to an effort than others. There is absolutely no need to give every single parent the same level of recognition.
We should applaud others for their strengths! We should applaud others for their accomplishments! We should stop thinking the world revolves solely around oneself!
