heart Working on commisions can be so tedious. Why do I get so lazy when it comes to them? I've got sketches done for two of them, ALMOST done...

gonk I'll be so happy when they're done. I understand now why people say they wont take requests for cluttered avatars. It's overloading!

Something I really need to work on is making my drawings dynamic. Perhaps I should look at more comic art and focus more on other things besides the figure. It'd help out my personal artwork too and it'd be a new challenge. I'm thinking I might put commissions on hold after this batch to work on my drawing a little more. I find myself practicing the same things over and over and I just need to branch out. Force myself to explore new things, because I haven't in awhile. smile Rrr, now I'm excited.

EErrp. I feel I should post this. I usually take awhile to do commissions. I feel bad about it, but life is busy and full of other things besides Gaia, so I apologize in advance if you order something from me.

Alright. My biggest petpeeve: People online who "critique" drawings but have no ******** clue WHAT they're talking about. If any of you morons who critique because it gives you an ego boost knew anything about artwork, then you'd know that nit-picking stupid "anatomy" details that you think are wrong just makes you look like an idiot.

It's one thing for me to ask for critique and then recieve good, well formed thoughts about my drawings. But it's a whole other story when some idiot is like, "Oh! Great drawing! Except the lips are placed in the wrong spot and the eyes are too big and the head is too small and the nose is off center..." ... Umm. Who are YOU to decide how a character looks? I don't know. It just bugs me.

crying Oh wow! I'm so happy! heart I won a silver award through the Scholastic Art Awards competition for my portfolio. crying I can't believe this actually happened ~ I'll be going to New York in June for some workshops and the awards ceremony (at Carnegie Hall)!! *squeals*
