~Brazil, South America- November 23, 2013, 7:45am
A white man stumbles out of the jungle and into a remote village, he is no more than 40 years old, delirious and speaking slurred English. No one can under stand him, the villagers bring the man to a local missionary and think no more of him.
The small clinic at the missionary is the only medical facility within 300 miles.
The man dies barely two hours after arriving, it is quickly decided that he should be laid to rest in the tiny cemetery adjacent to the missionary church. No such burial will ever take place.
~Present Day(fours years later):
The world is in ruin. The dead just won't stay dead anymore. Carrier 0 died in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, but his body didn't. The rest was a snowball. He bit the ones who tried to save him, the ones he didn't eat went on to bite others, and so one and such what until the entire globe was in unchecked chaos.
Now mankind is nearly extinct, pockets of survivors trying to eek out an existence and just stay alive.
Zombies: Classic groaning, shuffling, slow undead. Unless dealing with Carrier 0, the only infectious bodily fluid in a zombie is saliva. Blood splatter, while gross, isn't usually a cause for concern. They have no interest in eating animals.
Carrier 0: Middle aged man with light brown hair and typical tourist attire. He is the originator of the zombie virus, though only he knows exactly what happened and that's not much help. While his blood is infectious, it does not carry the same strain as would be typically found in zombie saliva.

Weapons: Two 3ft iron rods, motley assortment of knives, and a semi automatic handgun(just in case).
History: The b*****d child of a drug runner and a prostitute, she was raised by her maternal grandmother in near poverty. Despite her parents- whom she rarely saw- or perhaps because of them, she graduated high school and joined the US army a week later.
She joined Special Forces by age 23 after winning the Distinguished Service Cross. During a search and destroy of a drug cartel in Columbia on November 25th, her team came in contact with Carrier 0. It was during this exchange, which Diana never speaks of, she was passively infected by Carrier 0's blood.
She is infected without becoming an undead creature which holds an interesting consequence: zombies ignore her. Completely. They act as if she is one of them, no matter what Diana happens to be doing.
Barely two days after she was infected her team was set upon by an entire village of undead. They all perished, and the realization she was of no interest to the creatures began to dawn on Diana. Due to this immunity to detection, she tried to help people but in the end she was forced to stand back and watch the world fall apart.
Personality: When the world was normal she was very laid back and content to listen while others talked. While reserved in company, and generally quiet all the time; on the battlefield her true bravery and nerve were reveled. Her exemplary heroism on the field, again and again risking her life to save others, going above and beyond the call of duty; won her a Distinguished Service Cross.
Now she is still pretty laid back, but she has declared war on zombies and with unwavering determination has set about to systematically destroy them one at a time.
