So after Xam'd I decided to change the pace and ventured back into the early '90s (....? or somewhere around there). Slow Step was a nice little 5 episode (45 min per) OVA. I give it points for making me laugh and for ending quite differently from what I expected given the first two episodes.

I just have to point out that all the 'no-name' filler characters were completely ugly. I mean buck-teeth and beady eyed. Literally. neutral If they weren't part of the 'main cast' there was no effort to make them look decent. It may just be that the anime took place in a town with very few good looking people. I can see why Minatsu got the attention of all the guys... She was one of the few girls drawn attractively... xp

Anyhoo. My fav characters were Sawamura (the delinquent girl) and Somei-sensei (the good-looking transferred teacher who also happened to have girl-phobia lol). They just made the last episode for me. xd "Slap me again, please" lmao. That was just the best rofl

All in all. Decent anime. Managed to fill my time quite nicely. 3nodding 4laugh

I just finished Xam'd! I feel so accomplished xd lol.

I would definitely recommend for watching. Its a pretty good action/fantasy/romance/science fiction anime. Good characters and it really had me wanting to see the next episode.

It had the kind of feel of Eureka 7 (maybe it was just the drawing style, or it could just be me tee hee), but without all the serious angst. I mean in the last half of Eureka 7 I was crying every episode. I like to watch several episodes in one sitting and I had cried straight through five.... gonk crying I had a huge headache and could barely see the screen anymore so I had to stop. sweatdrop I actually still haven't finished the series. I was just to depressed to go on. crying

But Xam'd had its heavy moments and some light 'slice-of-life' type humor. Then there were those sudden turn of events that made me go eek ! (Well one in particular, that you problem know what I mean if you've seen it >>spoiler the last scene with Furuichi<<. That one was eek eek . Totally didn't see that coming.. lol) Also great display of emotions between characters in my opinion. 3nodding Gave it an 'Excellent' rating on AnimeNewsNetwork 4laugh
