Literacy, or the lack there of... |

I've noticed a recent decline in the number of literate people out there. Are they all on hiatus? Or are they gone? Perhaps they are just feeling pushed out by high influx we seem to have of non literate people here. I honestly must ask: Where have all the literates gone? I don't know if I truly am a literate. Many people think I am, but sometimes I get lazy. Plus, I don't get highly irritated by playing with illiterates if I've joined one that does allow it. Though, when I'm in a thread that says, LITERATES ONLY, I would hope everyone there is literate. I've been in a few where it has happened. So let me get one thing strait for those who do not know. To be called literate you must be able to read all rules, use "quotation marks" when speaking, keep a fair degree of proper English and spelling, DON'T use *asteriks* when doing actions, and no use of abreviated words like :*I walk in* hey u peoples, what r u doing? 11!1!1one..blah... GRAAAAAAAAAH! *blasts the horible eyesight of a sentence into oblivion.* Another point I'd like to bring up. Spam is fine, when used in the right places. Sure, we want to make gold, I want to make gold, we all want to make gold. But you don't alwas have to spam. You can talk about the same thing the topic is about. Or go to a spamming thread. Also, on another subjuct, I like eating spam. I know thare are some haters (actually probably many of them) but I like and I'm not afraid to say it. Especiallly when you fry it and serve it with rice, seaweed, and other scrumtious side dishes (yes, I'm part Asian. Get over it). Back on topic, I hope one day we may see more literate peple join our ranks. Or hopefully *gasp* the old illiterate people will become literate. Let a man dream...

I know, I just posted an entry, but entries like that aren't the only reason I created this journal (other than the fact that it just poped up in my head to create one). I also want to post my feelings, my... personal thoughts on events that happened to me. Like a nomal journal would be. I guess I'll start that now as well...
I've been spending my summer pretty lazily so far. I guess it's because I'm using what little time I have left before losing it all on college. Or I could just be lazy. As usual today, I was on Gaia as much as possible, trying to get gold, have fun, get gold... Oh, I did selll 4000 tickets today for 7000 gold. Then spent it all as usual. At this rate, I'll never make my own guild...
Yes, I do plan on making my own guild. Eventually. About something. I'll get back to that some other time. I guess that's all I really have to say now. I can't wait to get home from this visit to my relatives, so i can use my own computer to play Guilld Wars, or keep playing Gaia. I'll be sure to keep up this journal...

I guess I'll start my first post about love. Don't know why, but it's just something that poped up in my mind. What do I feel about? Who do I love? Would it be right to love on a website like this? I suppose I feel love is a...difficult subject to speak on. There are many opinions on it I'm sure. But I feel love to be a complex and difficult level to achieve. Sure you can say 'love at first sight' or 'love is blind' Is it really love you feel? Or is Lust? I'll take Romeo and Juliet. No offense to the fans of Shakespeare and his blockbuster story, but I disliked its idea on many points. First of, they see each other at a ball, and instantly they're in love. Just like that. Then they meet each other and confess their love. Then Romeo goes out killing for her and he is exiled. Don't know if this is the right order but Romeo actually stays in her room for a bit, and I found that little scene to be sugestive. Then they all die. AND THIS WAS ALL IN THE SPACE OF, what, ONE OR TWO DAYS!? Sorry, but my point is that they barely even knew each other, and it was rather that they love, they sleep, they die, no romance. Sure there was that little garden scene. It was one. Uno. Pretty much nothing you could really use to determine the level at which the two could truly love each other. Alright, still doubt me? Let me ask you, how would their lives have been if they had lived? Do you think they would have been happy?
Anyways, next questions. Who do I love... Well, there are a few. I could list them, but I prefer not to. Next question. Is it right on this a site like Gaia to have relationships. In my eyes, yes. Absolutely. You just have to be smart about it. I think Gaia is an excellent place to find someone you love. But don't take my statement too far. you should never agree to meet anyone in real life who you met online, no matter how much you think you can trust them, unless of course you know this person. Then it's fine, but why are you using the internet to talk to someone you have a telephone number for? Anyways, why I think it is fine for love here. Even though you could fake a personality, in the end, I believe no matter how hard you try to create a favorable personality that is not you, you still come out in the end. If you posted to that person for a long ime. Once or in a small not long to last rp you may not be able to find a person's true personality. but if you talk to someone long enough, you can tell what sort of person they are. That's my belief, anyways.
Well, that's it. This is the end of my first journal entry. Thanks for reading it!
