After all those months the man hadn't been getting what he wanted from her. The girl was very innocent and he couldn't take it. He cheated on her with his young secretary from his work. As the cheating went on he realized what a mistake he had made. He thought himself no longer worth of the girl's love, so he killed himself.
When he saw her in heaven, and her bloodied wrists, he realized what he had caused. Right after she disappeared, he whispered he had always loved her and always would before collapsing onto his knees and crying.
