The Christmas Lovers
The Christmas Lovers
As dawn breaks on this hallowed morn,
And light dances through the thorns,
I see your face break wide,
A smile burns from deep inside.
And as the cold washes the ground white,
Your beauty is such a sight,
A shining backdrop,
Making my heart stop.
Your touch is a flame,
As in my heart I write your name,
Sacred to me for all my life,
Your name won't fade even under the sharpest knife.
A present for many is wrapped with a bow,
Yet our hearts still burn deep inside.
As the snow drops by our feet,
Your love for me is so sweet.
Great time may make us part,
But you will always have my heart,
Even in this searing ice,
I hope my love for you will suffice.
As daylight burns away,
I can surely say,
Tonight my heart burns for you,
So these words will never become untrue.
Letting caution to the wind,
My day yours to spend,
Our lives’ fused with pain undone,
As through the silver our souls run.
Love and lust,
The only difference trust,
The truth living in your eyes,
As the daylight slowly dies.
Night fills the earth,
As a chilling thought finds berth,
Christmas begins to reach its end,
We only wish our time could extend.
A final kiss before we part,
Crystal tears fall as we're forced apart,
Now only memories reside,
But I would rather just have our love grow.
