Darkness... That was all Celeste could see as she plumeted deeper, and deeper into the hole. Seconds seemed like minutes, and minutes, seemed like seconds as she continued to tumble down into the unkown. What could be awaiting for her at the bottom? Could it be that the pit had no bottom? Would she just keep falling untill she eventually melted away into dust?
This can not be happening! The poor girl cried out into her head. She flailed her arms about, trying to snag anything to keep her from hitting the bottom, if there was one.
A sharp pain ran throughout the nerves of the frail girl's body as she felt her fingers curl around what seemed to be a spike sticking out of the wall of the pit. As Celeste slowly stopped swinging, she felt something warm, and sticky trickling down her arm. "At..l-least I know I'm still alive.." She breathed out, gasping to catch her breath. She tried hard to ignore the ever growing pain bulding up in her arm.
"Please, God, if there is one... Let me escape this fate that you have so cruely sat upon me!" She cried, only to have her words echoed back to her, almost as if the pit were mocking her attempts to escape to the light.
"Struggle not, maiden..." Said an unknown voice. She could not pinpoint the exact location of the voice, it semed to be coming from all directions. "The darkness must be playing tricks on my mind..." She said, feeling her arms begin to quiver with fear.
"Let go of the spike... Fall down to me..." Twas' the same voice again. Who could it be, and what could the person want? Celeste slowly began to feel herself weakening, her fingers throbbing, threatening to let her fall back into the darkness, towards the voice.
Everything went black again... Then came the pain...
