Listening to; Sam’s Town –The Killers
For awhile now, I’ve felt compelled to learn and engross myself into all aspects of my roots. I’m not sure when I started to feel this way; though I have a big hunch that it has something to with my grandmother. From tomorrow, five weeks have past since my last embrace with my grandmother before she went back to India. I want to impress her, or want her to see that I’ve matured a bit since her departing. Unknowingly, I realized that I wanted to improve-not only academically but something else. A something that whole family could take pride in. Then it hit me, wouldn’t it be great if I could fill in the language barrier between us? So now, we wouldn’t have to result ourselves to request the assistance of my parent’s as a translator. After that moment, I soon found myself talking more and more in Tibetan. I felt great, knowing that not only would this benefit me, but everyone else around me. To think, that a North-American born Tibetan teenager has perfected her mother thong. These days, it seems like the chances of finding a North-American born Tibetan-actually being able to speak Tibetan are declining by the year. However, I soon found even more motivation from a website and there introductory.

This is outrageous! Tibetans, faced with EXTINCTION? I was defiantly appalled—no wait—baffled at this remark. Could this actually be true? Not only, did this motivate me. But it also made we want to do all I could to preserve the Tibetan way in anyway I could. I decided to do some more research, and then I found out some more interesting facts, one being the ‘no luv 4 Google’ campaign. But I’ll disclose more on the next entry.
