The Surgeon General's warning indicates that her Journal may be slightly confusing to people. Use an extreme open mind when reading, and at all costs neglect to make stupid remarks in response.
The New Mods
Warning: This isn't directed at every new mod, just a lot of them.

See, most of the old mods are respectable and don't use their purple names as social status uppers. They are kind to people with bad grammar, they were funny, and they didn't get pissed off when someone had a problem with them. They dealt with it maturely and ignored the person, or played along until that person ended up looking like a moron on his own behalf.

It's not that I think the new mods have anything to prove, they don't. I have been offered the position of Mod before, and I turmed it down because I don't want to spend my time on Gaia helping people and fixing problems. I want to talk to my friends and make them without a purple name. I think it's absolutely awesome that someone would agree to become a mod, to help people. But come on, everyone knows there are some mods that suck up the glory of being "better than everyone else."

I have a friend on Gaia who isn't from America. His grammar, honestly, could use improvement. But he finds it easier to write in computer lingo than mess up more spelling out full words and missing punctuation. When someone made fun of him for it though- after he said he wished people could be nice- and he thought he could get the help from a Moderator (whom, remember, is supposed to help people) she also told him his grammar sucked. Whether or not someone's grammar is bad doesn't mean you can go around making people feel bad for it, mod or not. I am guilty of this too, but I do it to people born and raised in the USA when they call others stupid. I figure telling someone, "Don't call others stupid when you can't take the time to type in a few extra letters," is better than "Your grammar does suck, the person making fun of you is right."

[******** that.

As a moderator it isn't your right to make people feel bad, that's what you have to stop. Now my friend doesn't want to come on Gaia anymore because he's ashamed he has bad grammar. He also said that after yesterday when he checked his messeges, the one where the mod was rude to him had been deleted- and not by him.

Hm. Time to think over how "cool" the new mods are. If making fun of someone's grammar who doesn't originally speak English is OK by the ToS, then ********, I'm going to have fun and no one's going to be able to stop me.

Wow that mod is a raging whore! I can't believe she would treat someone like that. Your friend should pm an Admin and complain. Gaia is only friendly if English is your first language? That's B.S.!
