Raindrops

rain drops splattering,
rain drops bursting
rain drops hit the pavement below.

a boy walks out,
into the rain,
searching for his dream
in the vast sea of stars.

a girl walks out,
into the rain,
searching for her voice
in the vast sea of stars.

they meet on the stage,
under the spotlight.
the crowd cheers,
but for whom? for what?

the boy reaches high,
high into the skies,
for the stars, for her.

the girl finds her voice,
high into the skies,
as a star.

when finally, they find each other,
up in the sky,
when the girl sings,
she finds him disappearing
with the angels in the stars.

everything falls apart,
like a rain drop,
a rain drop bursting,
as it hits the pavement below.
