Carpe Diem Ad Muertum
Sieze the day, to the death. There is no potential that shall be passed by, there is no piece of glory to fall by the wayside, there is no soul to left unsaved by the brilliance of language. As writers, we are gods.
Pokémon
I think that there is abberation when
Games at least from one entire life ago
Pervade the mind which does the world forgo
And loose the thought, "What can be done with them?"
The creatures which in said games made such den
Appeal to me now in numbers made low
For childhood's tide has ebbed and youth's does flow
So now away from useless kinds I tend.

This culling of the races brings to brain
A dream of things I thought ethereal;
To make that which the child's mind did see.
If on this path of mine I can remain,
Could I prevail; could I maintain the gall
To engineer dreams to reality?

-Thoughts of the Dreaming Geneticist

Is it a bad thing when, while studying explication of poetry, I find that explication of my own is only properly possible when done by myself, or am I drawing parallels that don't exist?

I can't believe you wrote a Petrarchan sonnet.
I can't believe I noticed that it was a Petrarchan sonnet, or that I started looking for literary devices and themes in it.

Yes, and you know when your English teacher has brainwashed you when...?
