World Reflected Darkly: A Crossing of Paths
After Reading Kain's journal today I just had to post on my RPG, you can't beat that kind of feedback. Oh I'm so excited I finally have my characters actually working together instead of all the run-ins(/overs hehe) and near misses.
Okay just to get everyone up to speed on the story. There's been a series of what at first appeared to be a series of kidnappings exclusively female students ages 18-25 from the Crescent Bay private University and the Community college that's near by. That is untill the police actually found one body out in the dessert, it was horribly disfigured and could only be identified as one of the missing girls using DNA and Dental records...this site is supposed to be PG13 so I won't describe how it was disfigured.
Our characters Kain Alucin and now Sarah, have found out either through investigation or chance that this is deffinatly supernatural and that the potential victims have a dark mark that appears before they're taken or if they're targeted as a threat. (btw Kain I agree w/ you the Black floating little spirits are getting annoying, also, only werewolves and other shapeshifters should technically be able to see them, so I'm changing it to a twisted hand tattoo-like shadow on their left shoulders. Your occult sense could see that, but not the stupid little motes.)
In the course of trying to investigate this case allies and enemies have been made. Kain and Alu had something of an incident at the Doll House nightclub and caught the attention of...well you'll see. twisted Also the next night they kinda got into a fight w/ a couple of young punk werewolves at the Silver Harp Irish Pub. It ended when Jenny's older brother Tommy showed up and dropped/knocked out the one that was about to shift in public...I wonder if anyone found it supprising that Tommy turned out to be a
werewolf?
Let me make a note of this really quick the first night that everyone went to the Dollhouse it was revealed that the close family friend of Kain's illustrious family was also a Kindred. A one miss Lillian Versaille. But to add insult to injury for Kain (who at the time is a Hunter) she makes a joke about what if someone in his family is already a kindred too. That's what sparked the drawing of weapons all around the room. A fullout slaugter was avoided by Lillian taking control of the situation and vouching for Kain even after he tried to blast her head off, but *click click* he forgot to jack the slide. Then as everyone gets into Diega's office(the club owner) It's revealed that Lillian is actually Kain's Godmother too. She was a family friend after all. (God Help me, but that was a fun couple of scenes.)
Tommy(Alpha of his pack the Stone Claws) suggested talking to an allied pack for help, info or just permission to hunt in their territory, which also happens to be predominately Kindred(Vampire) controled up to the city limits; the dessert is the wolves' domain. This pack of exclusively Bone Shadows(a werewolf tribe) known as the Dessert Skulls offered hunting permission and cryptic hints that the spirit behind all this mayhem has an ally w/ magic that could hide it's prescence even from the werewolves in their own territory.
The party was split up that night and after leaving the Dessert Skulls' den Kain finds the warehouse most likely housing the Pain Spirit behind all this. After fighting some lesser minions Kain encounters the actual spirit.
Cut back to Alu. While he was w/ Sarah back at the Doll House to get some Info, Alu gets lured off and embraced by the Kindred that had been stocking him for a week or 2 now...btw she was the white shape he saw in the library the first night. But the one who's been trashing the library will be revealed later. Sarah distraught at losing Alu, possibly to his death, spent most of the night driving around in Kain's car looking for Kain and Alu, but had no luck. Infact, she ran into the scumbag werewolves from earlier, fortunately Tommy and his pack happend to be around and saved her from a truly unpleasant fate.
Kain in the meantime had encountered the Pain spirit responsible for this whole mess, but not being prepared to handle it on his own was nearly killed. He managed to hobble away to the Dollhouse after the thing had left him for dead. He would have died except that in a stroke of unbelievable luck he collapses into Lillian's arms in the parking lot. Feeling a spark of Matronly love and a need to protect and help her Godson, Lillian Embraces Kain on the spot (well in the back of her limo) in order to save him.
The whole night finishs up w/ Kain going back to his apartment and hearing Sarah inside sobbing (she thinks that her companions might be dead, which she's half right.) Kain pauses at the door struggling w/ the decision to leave Sarah again, not wanting to reveal that he's been turned...but he goes inside his apartment anyway and he and Sarah have a very interesting conversation. So what happend to Alu? Well he got turned into a vampire by a very attractive Kindred named Melisand and he's still currently w/ her. So much for focussing on school, eh Alu?
*sighs* Okay that's most of the story excluding the side quests.
